KEF Mu7 Wireless Headphones Released
KEF Mu7 wireless ANC headphones feature Ross Lovegrove design and latency-free 24bit/48kHz hi-res capabilities.
KEF mu7 headphones are touted as "an exercise in both engineering and aesthetic excellence", with the esteemed British brand once again teaming up with long-term collaborator Ross Lovegrove to create the understated aluminium design.
The Mu7 features 40mm full-range dynamic drivers engineered to reveal the smallest acoustic details and custom tuned by the KEF engineering experts. The Mu7 integrates enhanced codec technology, enabling up to 24bit/48kHz hi-res audio via Qualcomm's aptX HD codec and Bluetooth 5.1 for exceptionally stable, latency-free connectivity.
Renowned for his innovative approach and flowing, sculptural forms, KEF states that Lovegrove has created an over-ear headphone design that is refined, sleek, and harmonious with the wider Ross Lovegrove Collection for KEF.
The result is an ergonomic design featuring a precision-engineered aluminium frame and breathable leatherette memory foam ear cushions. The memory foam ear pads mould to the shape of your head, improving both passive and active noise cancellation and bass response, says KEF. In addition, a lightweight, durable headband delivers a snug acoustic seal with minimal ear pressure.
A capacitive touchpad on the right earcup allows users to answer calls, skip tracks and adjust volume through a series of intuitive taps and swipes. Finally, a swivel point above the earcups allows the headphones to be rotated and flattened, which is ideal for compact transport.
The Mu7 also features "Sophisticated Smart Active Noise Cancellation" technology that uses multiple filters to capture environmental sound before applying a specialised algorithm to target individual frequencies.
For hands-free phone calls, Clear Voice Capture (cVc) isolates the speaker's voice and minimises all other noise picked up by the microphone, ensuring crystal clear calls regardless of the environment.
The headphones offer up to 40 hours of playback from a full charge, with a 15-minute quick charge handing you 8 hours of use. You can also plug the headphones into your source via a 3.5mm audio connection.
