MONITOR AUDIO LAUNCHES MASS COMPACT 5.1 SPEAKER SYSTEM
Monitor Audio has launched the second generation of its MASS Surround Sound speaker set.
The MASS Gen 2, has been designed to deliver an improved audio performance from smaller cabinets that will complement any home.
The MASS compact 5.1 home cinema system which is suitable for both movies and gaming comprises five satellite speakers and a subwoofer and is perfect for those wanting surround sound but without the clutter.
The satellite speakers have a stylish acoustically transparent fabric finish and have the option to be supported on dedicated stands.
The MASS Satellites are two-way speakers with 9cm mid/bass drivers (with Metal Matrix Polymer cone technology) that sit just above 19mm soft dome tweeters.
The cabinet construction sandwiches a core MDF ring between two glass fibre reinforced ABS halves for optimum rigidity, to reduce unwanted vibrations.
The accompanying subwoofer utilises a 203mm long throw driver, coupled to a 120 W Class-D amplifier. The system offers three preset modes (Music, Movie and Impact) for the ease of plug-and-play.
Naturally, the sub is optimised to crossover with the MASS Satellites and utilises DSP (digital signal processing) as well as advanced limiters for greater control over bass response.
The MASS Surround Sound is available in Mist (light grey) or Midnight (dark grey) finishes and sells for $1,769 RRP. The bespoke satellite speaker stands are available for $329.
