Skyanalog Phono Cartridges Now Available in Australia

Established analog manufacturer Skyanalog and its range of phono cartridges are now available in Australia thanks to the appointment of Audio Magic as the local distributor.

Skyanalog was founded by Jack Leung, who spent his youth in rural China, balancing his day between farm work and his passion for electronics. During the 1980s, electronic components were scarce, so young Jack began scavenging resistors, transistors, and other parts from discarded electronics. Despite the demands of farm work during the day, Jack would wake up at 4 a.m. to pursue his “DIY adventures,” dedicating every spare moment to his handcrafted electronic projects. By 16, he had successfully built his first “Hi-Fi” tube amplifier.

With outstanding academic performance, Jack was admitted to the South China University of Technology, where he majored in Electronic Engineering. He continued to nurture his dream of creating a HiFi brand. After nearly a decade as a senior telecom engineer, Jack founded Skyanalog, initially focusing on tube amplifiers for the domestic market before expanding into the vinyl sector and embarking on an OEM journey for other brands.

Having designed and manufactured more than 50,000 cartridges across over twenty OEM brands, Skyanalog now stands on its own with its range of hand-assembled MC phono cartridges. Its renowned G-series and Reference cartridges have earned accolades from audio experts and enthusiasts worldwide.

Skyanalog has something for everyone, from the P-1M model, perfect for entry-level enthusiasts, to the G-3 and Reference series for the most discerning listeners.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
