Two Weeks Until Australia’s Greatest Sight & Sound Exhibition Opens in Melbourne

Australia's greatest exhibition of Hi-Fi, Home Cinema, Headphones, and Home Entertainment will take place once again in Melbourne from October 11 to 13. It will showcase the world's best hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones brands—all in one place over three great days.

With 200 brands on show, you'll hear and experience some of the most immersive and impactful home cinema systems, the most accurate and engaging 2-channel hi-fi systems, and the finest headphones money can buy.

All your favourite international brands will be present, including Audio Research, Bowers & Wilkins, Denon, Eversolo, Focal, JBL, KEF, Klipsch, Linn, McIntosh, Marantz, M&K Sound, Naim, Rega, Sennheiser, Sonos, Trinnov, Vivid Audio, WiiM, Wilson Audio and many more.

Australian brands also represented include Dellichord, DEQX, Dohmann Audio, Elektra, Elementi, Hulgich Audio, Krix, Microphase Audio Design, OAD Ultrafidelity, Pitt & Giblin, Richter, and Spectra Flora.

Wander from room to room across 55 dedicated spaces, experiencing the emotion of a live performance played back in high fidelity, or the impact of explosive scenes from the latest blockbuster movie. Why go to the cinema when you can bring the big screen home? At this year's show, you'll witness the latest in projectors, TVs, soundbars, surround-sound audio systems and more. It truly is a treat for all the senses.

Show Director Marc Rushton said:

Since this exhibition started in 2016, we've welcomed nearly 20,000 visitors through the doors. For many, it was the first time they've experienced the genuine emotion that music can evoke. For others, it was experiencing just how immersive and impactful having your own cinema at home can be. Hi-Fi and Home Cinema is once again becoming an experience for the whole family to enjoy the latest albums or movies together.

Marc continued:

In 2024, we're seeing increasing interest in home cinema and AV, along with a new generation of music lovers seeking higher quality products. The 2024 StereoNET Hi-Fi & AV Show delivers a wide selection of products and brands from across the world, at all price points. There's something for everyone.

If vinyl is your thing, you'll be tempted by an array of the latest turntables for all budgets. At the same time, the Australian Record Fair will assemble an expansive collection of vintage, collectible, and new vinyl on sale.

For head-fi lovers, Headzones on the ground floor will present the very largest range of the world's best headphones and portable audio products on display and available for audition. You can even get a 3D ear scan onsite with Auricle Digital with special package prices when ordering Custom In-Ear Monitors.

So bring your eyes and ears to Australia's most extensive and exciting exhibition of Home Entertainment, where you can touch, feel, listen, and experience everything new and get a heads-up on current technology.

StereoNET’s Founder and Publisher was born in England and raised on British Hi-Fi before moving to Australia. He developed an early love of music and playing bass guitar before discovering the studio and the other side of the mixing desk. After a few years writing for audio magazines, Marc saw the future in digital publishing and founded the first version of StereoNET, known at the time as Planet Audio, in 1999.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
