Further Information

I bought these from SNA member Cheekyboy (Keith from Wyndham Audio) in late 2014, they were around 4 years old at the time. Keith had pinched some of the crossover components for other projects so I had to replace the components and rebuild the crossovers (which are mounted in the base of the speakers).

During the rebuild I did a few little tweaks such as upgrading some of the internal speaker wiring and adding some foam weather strip behind the bass drivers when re-mounting. I also wired these so that they can be bi-wired/bi-amped if preferred.

I used Mundorf caps where required therefore adding a bit of bling and hopefully releasing a bit more music.

These speakers also have L Pads/potentiometers for both the midrange and tweeters so you can adjust to suit your taste/system.

The bass unit enclosure is around 45 litres and is constructed from 25mm MDF and the head units are made from 19mm MDF and both are finished in Jarrah veneer.

The drive units are as follows:

Woofer - Audax PR240ZO Aerogel 10".

Midrange - Audax HM100ZO HDA Aerogel 4"

Tweeter - Visaton G 25 FFL 1" Fabric Dome

This build will suit anyone wanting a high performance 10" three way loudspeaker.

Will consider trade for other Hi-Fi.

Gees.. for $650 for the pair!

I've seen open displays of a commonly known speaker model's crossover that retail for $35k in Australia, built from components that add up to $15 total. That's less than the price of just one of the caps you've used in your speaker's crossovers.

Indeed. $650 is a crazy bargain.

I agree with others here that $650 for these is a crazy price. To purchase the crossover components alone would be many times the asking price.

The Visaton tweeter turned out to be an excellent choice with these loudspeakers and the Audax aerogel drivers are legendary. The HM100ZO mid range unit was consistently written up at the time as arguably the best mid range unit on the market and I believe that would still hold true today.

If you're in the market for a high performance high end three way loudspeaker, these are an absolute bargain at this asking price.

Cheers,

Keith
