Further Information

Bryston BLP-1 turntable with optional antiskate kit (not currently installed).

Fabulous belt drive turntable, been used by me for the last year while my LP12 was being rebuilt. Now I've got it back this is surplus to requirements.  Some minor scratches on the dust cover but otherwise in very good condition.  Comes with original box (which is a bit worse for wear after sitting in my garage). Pickup preferred but able to ship Oz wide at buyers cost and risk.

The BLP-1 is a collaboration with high-end Italian manufacturer Gold Note. The turntable utilizes a belt drive design housed within a mass-loaded chassis engineered to deliver remarkably accurate vinyl playback by holding precise speed stability while minimizing resonances. The BLP-1’s exceptionally accurate 33 1⁄3 / 45 RPM low speed / high torque motor is driven by a proprietary Bryston-designed and manufactured pulse width modulation (PWM) power supply called the BTP-1 (included with turntable). The 35mm thick highly inert Delrin platter with integrated record mat, which damps non-musical vibration yet preserves critical detail, is mated to a hardened carbon steel spindle and ultra-hard bronze modular bearing system polished to 0.02mm tolerance. The unique vented plinth both eliminates platter turbulence and prevents unwanted vibrations from reaching the bearing. The seven-segment titanium tonearm features tungsten steel bearings and an arm tube integrated to the headshell, making it virtually immune to cantilever-born vibrations. The Bryston BLP-1 also comes with a removable tonearm cable, adjustable brushed aluminum feet and an elegant hinged high-mass dustcover to complete the package.

Gets almost universal praise - especially at this price point

Easily competitive with anything else in its price range. Recommended especially to those who want to enjoy vinyl at an astonishingly high-level of performance. Indeed, it's quite the best lightweight turntable I've ever used.

The Bryston BLP-1 would be among the best performing turntables I’ve heard. At its price, the Bryston deserves your time for audition even if you are in a position to spend considerably more. Very thoroughly recommended!

We can safely say Mission Accomplished! Here then, is a realization that can be described as completely successful and giving great moments of listening emotion regardless of the type of music chosen. The electronic parts are beautiful, with small discrete cabinets that hide a lot of know-how and which are perfectly balanced during playback.

With the Bryston BLP-1, I can recognize the value. This table delivers excellent sonics, it is easy to set-up, there is minimal maintenance involved in keeping it set up, the speed stability is world class, and the arm is good enough to house cartridges that would seem out of proportion with its cost.

The BLP-1 is a reference calibre turntable with, by audiophile standards, an affordable price tag. If you've been searching for your "forever" turntable and thought you had to spend $25K or more to get it, listen to Bryston’s TT with a reference calibre M/C cartridge and top-shelf phono cable. This may just be the last turntable you'll ever buy.
