Further Information

I am the original owner having bought these new from Tandy in 1986.

This is somewhat a sentimental sale for me - its odd i know but these were amongst an early hi fi journey purchase, have been around so long and when you think back to the 80's and part of an era and memories along the way. They still sound amazing, eagle eye spotters will note i have changed the mid range drivers to very nice focal Kevlar mid range flavors. i did this around 10 years ago when i re-foamed the woofer driver surrounds and could not be bothered re-foaming the midrange drivers as well . I do still have the original drivers.

I still run them on my 1986 Technics SS amp (yes also bought new then) which was 100w PC but in the last 5 years i have enjoyed running them on 10w  PC 60 year old Leak and other vintage tube amps - to my surprise the 10w tube amps drive these speakers normally. They are easier to drive than realised or originally thought.

The focals in my opinion bring a nice level of performance and alone are worth a good part of the asking price. The condition is excellent performance wise but good physically, are are some mark/s scratches and a small hole in one of the grilles - fair wear for age.

Ready to go for someone on a budget looking at some really nice larger flavor speakers that play all types of music.

I ham happy to deliver them free in Melbourne  metro area.

Lastly - they do not have banana posts, they have the original typical 80's push wire terminals and the blue tape on the back is hiding my ID number - good old neighbor hood watch.  I will have to engrave these off on sale (sorry).
