Here we have a vintage CEC 'Harksound' Auto Direct Drive HS-610 turntable, with an Audio Technica cartridge.

The unit belongs to friend who's had had it in the garage for decades, wasn't sure to keep it or chuck it, and had no gear to prove it worked or not!    So..... I am doing the hard yards for them. 

I carried it home, tidied it up, and I did have an amp that it would connect to... surprisingly my most modern amp!     It goes.... music emerges!   But with only 1 old LP to test, I can't vouch for how much nicer it might sound with a clean LP, a clean up of the RCA terminals, and maybe a new cartridge or stylus.

So the GOOD news is.... it's FREE!      And it's NOT going to landfill, someone can give it a good home!     Probably perfect for that man-cave setup you were thinking about.
