Can you confirm if this does play SACDs? 

 

I can't see anywhere in the manual, no SACD logos on it. Only mention I can find is this in the manual that it uses the same circuits as used in the SACD players. "Using Marantz original HDAM® SA2 circuit The unit uses an HDAM® SA2 circuit, whose quality has been proved in Super Audio CD players and high-end amplifiers, as a high-speed buffer amplifier. You can enjoy the high speed and high-quality sound like that produced by high-end equipment."

 

None of the reviews I've read mention SACD. (What Hifi etc).

 

Hifi Choice say this...

"Residing on the very first rung of the Marantz silver disc-spinning range ladder, the CD6005 doesn’t offer SACD playback functionality."

No, it won't play sacd  If you check the marantz site the compatibility reads ...yes for cd ...yes for cd-r/rw....NO for sacd..yes for WMA...yes for MP3

It might play a hybrid sacd on the cd layer but not sure.
