Further Information

FPB300 bought overseas and used in Australia since 2004.  Fully recapped by Lens Wallis in 2014.  Not used from 2017 due to overseas work.  Upgraded the system and retired as second system with very little use since 2022.  Need to downsize now.  Although it is 220V (Australia is now 230V standard), it has been used without any problem so far directly from wall socket.

My advice is to use step down as the voltage here in australia ranges from 228 volts to 254 volts 50 to 60 hzs So if your voltage is around 240 volts plus  you will have problems with the amplifier. When buying step down transformer needs to be higher than the voltage of the amplifier. Tortech sells them and their made in australia.

I do use digital Multi-meter to check the voltage at home all the time.  It was like 250V 20+ years ago on a weekday afternoon.  I have a Musical Fidelity A100X with rectifier burnt at that time after about two years in use.  However, I seldom see the voltage beyond 240V nowadays and mainly within 225 to 235V only as shown on my PS Audio P12 power supply. For people live in country area, it is possible that the voltage fluctuation may be substantial especially if the transformer set voltage is not updated to 230V.

BTW, Australia is all 50Hz.  No 60Hz.

These are incredibly easy to switch to 240v. Literally the flick of a switch and any tech with the correct information would have it done in under 5 minutes.
