For Sale Acoustic Research AR11 Bookshelf Loudspeakers

These large bookshelf speakers (or are they small floorstanding speakers?) are one of Acoustic Research's most sought after loudspeakers. They sport the same midrange as found in the famous AR3a and LST models and a 12" bass driver for the lower frequencies.

They are completely restored:

The velcro was removed from the front baffle, imperfections filled and resprayed satin black, along with the rear panel. The front baffle and drivers are absolutely immaculate.

Crossovers were recapped with Dayton film types and Dayton satin nickel plated binding posts were installed.

I had Melbourne company J.J. Davies and Sons, Australia's 'Largest and Most Trusted Felt Supplier' die-cut woollen felt discs to replace the foam on the tweeters which, by this stage had deteriorated. I applied the white paint ring to resemble the original. I believe that this felt disc will behave as well if not better than the original.

I sanded back the cabinets and applied Livos hard oil for a satin, semi-water resistant coating.

The grills are originals.

These speakers really benefit from being elevated off the floor; I have a pair of stands that require some love that I'd be happy to throw in for free (see pics).
