Further Information

The DAC will play any source material but excels playing a DSD512 stream from HQPlayer.

For anyone who uses HQPlayer or who has any interest in HQPlayer. this dac is something really special.

It has two independent dacs, one for DSD and another for PCM. This high-end DAC is compatible with PCM up to 384kHz/32bit and DSD up to DSD512.

Volume can be controlled through both the remote and manually. It can operate as a preamp, connecting straight to the amplifier,

It also has a headphone output

The firmware has been updated and now plays up to native DSD512 over USB. It now works flawlessly with Linux-based sources.

I was so impressed with this unit that I upgraded to a T+A DAC 200.

There are many positive reviews and reports regarding the this DAC. (There is an earlier version (DAC8). This is the later model - DAC8 DSD)

A wonderful piece of gear. You cannot go wrong.

Agree, have been using it for years now and have no intention to part with it.

Thanks for your comments, gentlemen.

The review reflects my experiences also.

If I wasn't heading in a DSD1024 direction with HQPlayer, I wouldn't be selling the DAC 8.

My positive experiences with it are the reasons why I stayed in the T+A stable and bought a T+A DAC 200. Also the Audiophile Style forum for both dacs is excellent. You're certainly not left alone and wondering.
