I’m the second owner of this amazing DAC by AudioNote UK. This is built by AudioNote, it is not the kit version.
It has a 6111WA tube in the output stage which gives it a lovely sparkle and life that I haven’t heard from my other SS DACs. AudioNote gear really prioritises musical enjoyment over everything else, and this DAC really embodies that philosophy. It delivers music with a wonderful level of detail and corporeality.
I’ll miss it but I’m under strict ‘one in one out’ guidance.
I recently had it recapped by the Real Music Company here in Auckland, so it’s in great shape. I also have a spare 6111 valve that I’ll include as well. These valves can operate up to 100,000 hours apparently. So the one in the unit probably still has plenty of life still in it.
