Further Information

KLIPSCH CORNWALL CLONE

Selling my latest speaker project, the Klipsch Cornwall clones.

I completed these in January 2024 & have enjoyed them immensely. Upon completion they were set up in my dedicated sound room & have never been moved. As such, they present as brand new.

I have built a few projects over the years, amongst them some Klipsch La Scalas, Belle Klipsch, Troels Gravesen TL3’s & JBL 4430’s. Of all the systems, my personal favourite has been the Cornwalls. It has almost the same punch as the horn loaded designs, but digs a lot deeper. The mids & highs are sublime, with a smooth sound, but still huge amounts of detail & beautiful resolution.

The cabinets follow the factory design for volume requirements & are tuned as per that design. They are constructed from 18mm Baltic Birch, with extensive bracing, glued & screwed together. The crossover is housed in a seperate chamber at the top of the cabinet, to eliminate any interference from vibration. The cabinets are veneered in Silky Oak veneer with clear lacquer.

Cabinets are 1195 high x 604 wide x 420 deep. They weigh 75kgs each.

Components are Crites cast frame woofers, B & C DCM50 mids with ZXPC 18 x 10 horns, B & C DE10 tweeters with SMAHL horns. Crossovers are ALK uni's with upgraded components. Jantzen Superior & Alumen capacitors, Jantzen Litz Wax inductors for the mid & high sections & massive Solen 10 gauge inductors for the bass section. Dueland resistors & Cornell Dubilier by pass caps throughout.

Cost of the components for these was in excess of $7,000 (Over $2500 for the crossover alone). I lost count of the number of hours for construction, so that’s a bonus.

RRP for a set of Cornwalls is around $18,000 & these would be vastly superior. Better drivers, better cabinets, better crossovers. Google Klipsch Cornwall cabinet construction & you will see the quality of the standard design.

These will need to be picked up or arrange freight transport as they are quite large & extremely heavy. Happy to assist with freight arrangements if I can.

The dimensions & weight again:

1195 high x 604 wide x 420 deep. Each speaker weighs 75 kgs.
