Great speakers. I was running with low-power valves but the drop to 3.5 ohm impedance at one point  meant that it was not the optimum match for my amps.  Magnificent sound though.

Yes, the Line Magnetic 518iA SET (22W) really make these speakers get up and dance!

5-8W not so much despite the notional 95dB and 4 ohms' specs. The subsequent Triode Masters model did that particular job much better I believe.

This has me a bit cautious too guys. My current ML Motion 65XT’s are driven by an Anthem Intergrated 225. This seems about the opposite (high power, solid state) from what you guys are suggesting to drive them. I’m only looking as I’m considering an aesthetic upgrade, would rather not go down the paths of needing an amp change.

I love my current setup, except the black cherrywood on the ML’s look odd in the room and I’ve always loved the look of the Spatials, particularly in white. Don’t get me wrong, sound trumps aesthetics, but there’s a limit when it’s in your family living room.

Also, am restricted for space, won’t get more than 60cm or so from front panel to back wall. I’ll do some more research, thanks for the heads up.

amp's fine. my Conrad J. was an over kill, in price. not perfor'. so a good low powered amp. is all u need. nothing wrong with big Watts. its ur space. that could b the. prob'.  but hey. u wont buy a better, sound. espec' 4 this amount.

I ran with a 300w Elektra power amp and and with a 50w Moon integrated. Both sounded lovely. Pre-amps with hi gain can be an issue though as the Spatials are so efficient getting fine control of volume can be an difficult. One of the reasons I went away from the Elektra pre and power combo.

I miss mine, they just didn't suit the new house.

They match really well with tube amps but a nice old solid state like a Sansui in the 100w+ range does the job also. That's a 45w pure class A amp running them and...this is a small room, so I disagree you need a large room for them to bloom fully.image.png.eb569160e0b84fb7f535cf02572b9c
