Not many speakers around at $4k could match these

100%

I remember the very day that my brother purchased a pair of these about two weeks after they were released .

I was gobsmacked at  the sound quality, but being a no money student at the time, I could not afford to buy my own.

Just one thing to a prospective buyer, make sure you have a high quality amplifier and you will be suitably mesmerised.

A genuine all time classic.

I had B&W 801 Matrix 2 series back in 1988/9 soon after they were released. I went through many speakers since then, including some huge horns, and just a few years ago I bought B&W 801 Series 2 again... I concluded that I was wasting my time trying to find something better all these years. I haven't heard Series 80 of this model but these are seriously good speakers. I will keep my pair forever, there is no way I will make this mistake again.

Good luck with sale
