Really good price for a warm lovely sounding fully analogue, no gimmicks amp with lots of power. Excellent price and in my opinion better looking than the newer version. Those volume knob LEDs are pretty sexy! Mine is not going anywhere!

Thanks and I agree. I really like Rega's design philosophy whereby the reproduction of music is foremost.  I've recently upgraded to the Aethos and had a wow moment!  The Elicit is still a great amp though!

I do also have the Aethos for my other set up, but I actually prefer the Elicit-R volume control, it is super precise in the way it is constructed. It feels different.

And talking about Rega, apart from the obvious sound focus above all else, I very much like their approach to manufacturing, social responsibility and the fact that they are not owned by any conglomerate with lots of debt etc. Pretty rare this days.

I can't say I disagree with your comment on the volume control on the Aethos, I too prefer the accuracy on the Elicit and the light indicators but I do love the sound from the Aethos.  BTW, what speakers are you using?

The Aethos has so much power, isn't it? It does feel like the headroom can go forever. Amazing piece of gear for sure. And it's construction is so solid!

I followed my dealer's advice and matched both amps with PMC.

The Elicit-R with the PMC Twenty5.22 (not "i" version) and the Aethos because it is in a smaller room with PMC Twenty5.21 (not "i" version). Although the PMC Twenty5.21 are smaller, they have a lower sensitivity, I think around 86db.

To me the match is incredible. It really is impressive so this is the gear I am dying with. What about you?

I totally agree with you about the Aethos, such a great amp in so many ways.  I can see myself being happy with this amp for a long time to come.  As for speakers, I hear PMC's work really well, they share the same tonal qualities, and the Twenty5 series are really good but I drive the new KEF R7 Meta with them.  Once again, I think they share the same sound characteristics and to my ears, they sound sublime.  They do like a bit of volume though, which I'm very happy to oblige in, but it was a toss up between the KEF's and Focal's.

Ah, very nice match you have there.

Yes the Elicit-R has tons of current in reserve. The Aethos same but ready for even more IF necessary.

I have a very soft spot for the Elicit-R, it is an amp I wouldn't mind having an extra one tucked somewhere and your price is excellent!

Thanks.. I can see how anyone can have a soft spot for the Elicit-R and if it wasn't for the fact I was offered a great deal for the Aethos, I would have been very happy to keep things as it was.   Hey, you could always bi-amp them, if that's possible! Now that would be interesting😀
