Further Information

If you’re looking at this, you probably already know what it is! Dual 15” opposed woofers and 1000w powered subwoofer with a reputation that precedes it.

Owned since new, purchased by myself in the original dtv forum group order.

Recently moved house and started a family, been sitting unused for a while as unfortunately this subwoofer and setup no longer fits my lifestyle…

Made a phenomenal long term setup with my Krix Neuphonix/Epicentrix and Elektra Theatron which are also listed for sale, can package together if interested.

If you were in Sydney.... I believe this was the second group buy for Seaton products? Didnt the first one come with the 1000 watt amps?

Yeah, there were no 2400 watters yet then. I still have a what is now a slave sub of the original group buy. Meaning the original 1000 watt Ice amp has been removed  and replaced with a plate to fit the hole left by amp removal, from Seaton which has just

a Speakon connector to draw power from a 2400 watt amp. Iirc you could only get this plate replacement on return of the original 1000 watter or something along those lines and its re registered as a slave sub.

Thanks for the corrections! Yes you are right, from the original and the info you posted @lonewolf and @Itsmoi now rings a bell - I remember the upgraded amp option a bit later on which I did not take part iN. Been a minute since I’ve been part of the community online and was tough tracking down info for the ad, was going off what I could find and was labelled. Appreciate the help! Listing has been updated to reflect the correct power output.

Hi mkep, when I was answering lonewolf about his question about the first one(group buy) I answered with the correct answer. They were all 1000 watters for the first group buy.

Looking however at your pictures now which I did not do a couple of weeks when I simply answered lonewolf's query about the first group buy of the old DTV forums. So you must have been part of a later group buy.

My Seaton was ordered at some time around the first group buy, but not part of the group buy due to later shipping of that big order, I wanted it quicker. And it came with the only amp available, the 1000 watt Ice amp. That one broke down not long after I had it, but a new one promptly shipped, and original broken one sent back in the packaging of the replacement amp.

I just looked at the pictures on a revisit to this thread and you do not have the original 1000 watt amp, you have a 2400 watt version looking at what the label says.

It is somewhat different to my label on which the model is described as a 6000 watt version, which is the output with a slave sub connected. My model number is SM-2 1. 5.+Plus i.

From memory mine is 2400 watt without a slave sub connected and as the label on mine says 6000 watts with a slave connected, goes to 2 ohm with slave connected. Slave simply being a passive Seaton Submersive.

Just posting you do not have the original 1000 watt Ice powered amp. You have a later one, but not the +Plus version, that's all.  I do have some recollection about waiting for the Plus+i version and not updating to what is probably your version of amp when they came out. I was always going to run the slave option lol 🙂

Sorry about the confusion, i did not look at your pics, just bounced off lonewolf comment about first group buy, when there definitely only was the 1000 watt amp. I have some recollection about the US having the better amp way before us due to voltage being 120V back then. Till finally 240 volts came about and we could have them. Then having USA people getting 220/240 volt connections fitted to their house, so they could have the 6000 watt amps as well lol.

 Cheers
