For sale is perhaps one of the cleanest and best-performing Technics SL-120 turntables that you will find.
This lovely direct-drive SL-120 has been overhauled with a fully recapped power supply board and oiled bearing and is in wonderful functional condition, holding speed perfectly as you'd expect.
The SME-3009 II tonearm has been rebuilt with a new stub coupler, new bayonet connector, re-wired with Cardas tonearm wiring, and the lifter mechanism has been refurbished with the correct weight of silicone damping oil. The tonerm is complete with the stub weight and anti-skate weight.
Installed is a low-use Denon DL-110 high output moving coil cartridge with circa 70 hours of use. Superb condition and lots of life left. Being a high output moving coil, it is compatible with the MC input. If you're not familiar with this cartridge, check out the retail price!
The Denon is installed on a Nagaoka magnesium headshell with Japanese OCC litz headshell wires.
The Denon's output is via Van Damme low capacitance cabling (1M length) to a pair of Star-Line tellurium copper RCA connectors for a pure signal path.
Cosmetically the turntable is in fantastic condition with only minor marks here and there. The photos tell the story well. A virtual time capsule.
The smoked original lid is in superb condition with only very minor swirls visible from certain angles from dusting. The lid and original hinges are fully functional with no cracks and damage.
Pick-up only from Harrington Park, NSW. No shipping, sorry.
