These were the 'bigger brothers' sitting next to the EVO1 at the show? If so, mighty impressive sound for the size, especially in such a big room.

Philip, what amplification were you using at the show?

I have a pair of i91's running off a Cyrus 8DAC and love them to bits. Great to see so we can still make some great products in our own back yard!!

Slightly tempted by the Evo's ;)

Hi Spyne,

We used a Densen to power the Evo 1. A great and affordable quality amp.

The speakers to their side are our very popular Signature i91. A good number of StereoNet members own Signature i91. The Evo 1 is quite a bit smaller than the i91 but as you witnessed they go deep. Very deep. And we're able to fill what was the biggest room at the show. Like I said at the show, the Evo 1 are an important speaker, and not just for VAF. Their performance transcend what was previously believed possible in a speaker as small as they are. No eq. No DSP. Just pushing engineering, actually better data to inform engineering, to push beyond past limits. Flat to 35Hz, tight even sound, fast decay (clean sound), great dynamics, time aligned coax with double chamber tweeter, magnesium cone, etc. the feedback from the show has been enormously encouraging.

But remember, the Evo 1 are a limited edition. We call them Evo for evolution. We're not yet sure where the insights we have learned will take us, but we felt we had made such a big improvement in compact speakers that we simply had to launch this speaker now. As above, we think this is an important speaker.

Cheers,

Philip

Here is a pic of the VAF range at the show, including the Evo 1 and the Signature i91. They are 2 and 3 from the red ones (I think?)

cheers

Damn my other half carried one of his bottles of water all day - hope she also filled out the card - they would do nicely for our rural property!

PMPL you're giving @@Luc an run for his money as a comedian now.

They may be a good speaker but the TAD's are a completely different class all together.

When you're up for it come for a  drive and i'll show you what l mean.
