  1. Hey Guys, I'm a resident lurker here at the forums, often jealous of the setups you all have. Recently I have helped my father upgrade the home system to a home theatre setup, and therefore some of the older components we upgraded to probably around 15 years ago are now sitting there gathering dust. It was pretty impressive in its day, and now was wondering if anyone from SNA had use for it. Perreaux PMF-1150B Power Amplifier SOLD This is a beautiful older amp, with 100W RMS per side at 8Ohms, however I'm sure it never saw it's full potential at Dad's place. As it was a secondary setup, it never really got used that much, and therefore I would suggest is in excellent condition. It's also rack mountable, if that helps anyone these days. It comes with original user manual. Specs can be found here: http://www.perreaux.com/files/030-PMF1150B.pdf Mitsubishi Stereo Preamplifier M-P04 SOLD When we first looked at upgrading the system, the guy brought around a Mitsubishi set, however we wanted more power than was provided by the Power amp in this set (I believe it's a Mitsubishi Power Amplifier A-P04). So the guy split the set, and this is the pre-amp that ran the Perreaux Power amp for all these years. I don't know what it's worth, but if a pre-amp is needed for the power amp, I'm sure we can work out something as a set. Sony CD Player - CDP-715 SOLD When I took the photos below I was in a rush, so excuse the dust on shelves and fingerprints, but I guess it gives you a good idea how it is. A quick wipe-over, and the gear would all be in excellent condition. We're open to offers for all of this gear. Have the new home theatre so would rather sell than trade/swap. The Perreaux amp is over 15KGs, and therefore would be better for pickup / delivery. Location is currently Glen Iris (as it has been for over 15 years), however I can arrange to meet people if they are interested in having a look. If you have any questions, feel free to post / pm / email me. All gear is sold - thanks for the enquiries, and hope the new owners get as much out of it as we have
  2. Hey Guys, Sorry to hijack the thread - but phono preamps are what I'm looking at currently as well. The background is that I'm upgrading my father's system at his place from his old 2 channel setup, to a multi-channel setup in the lounge with the new TV he just bought - and have found out I need to get a phono pre-amp for him to be able to play his records. Now I realise that it's not the same league as some of you guys here, we're getting a Sherwood 6.1 amp, around mid-range stuff that will still sound reasonably good. He's got a NAD turntable, so looked at the NAD preamps, and was wondering if it was worth the $199 for that, whether I should go for the www.phonopreamps.com TC-760LC (we don't need any more inputs from the preamp into the amplifier), or whether I should just go for a $50 Behringer one that can be found on eBay and online music stores here in Australia. I'd prefer to get the $50 one of course - but would there be a noticable difference in a modest system paying more for a phono preamp which would primarily be used as background music at dinner parties etc. I'm sure he'll give the system a workout every now and then, but it's not a priority. Thanks in advance for your help!
