EXPIRED FS: Dynaudio C2 Signature
jimypeny2 replied to a topic in Stereo, Home Cinema, Headphones Components
Magnificent speakers that outdo all of the speakers that I sampled. By the time I finished trying all the speakers i settled on the Confidence C4s. Not overally fussy with room placements as well. -

HI 'Minute' There is a company called escrow.com that just set up in Australia last yr (according to google) that u could try. It does make sense to use an escrow considering that ur selling such a big sales item. His a link to escrow services https://www.lifehacker.com.au/2019/09/what-is-escrow-and-when-is-it-necessary/ and this one is to do with escrow.com https://www.escrow.com/news/articles/escrow_com_launches_in_australia Good luck with your sale Btw Great value for the $ to whoever is considering these speakers -
With all the information out there I set out to buy a pair and I just received my set today. The only pairs that I can compare them with are the Bose QC35 and B&W P7's which I've owed and currently own. My personal opinion is that the nura phones win hands down. My only gripe was that it took me so long to set up as the software kept telling me it wasnt a tight fit (when performing the set up your meant to place the set above your ears in what is meant to be as air tight as possible). Also I had problems with my laptop in setting the device up which is unrelated to the product. Once I had the set up performing well I was able to perform an AB test with the B & W's and my sons' Bose QC35 and yes the auras won hands down on my listening. I was listening to some laid back music by Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu, some disco house and some netflix movies. The sound stage sounded very real with the mid range beautiful to listen to. I read that the bass can be alittle too deep which I took into consideration when setting the 'front rear' setting. The closer to the' front' sets the bass deeper which I initially found uncomfortable to listen to. My initial preferred setting was alittle to the left off the middle. Afterwards I readjusted the settings to slightly more bass as I was surprised how little bass came out. I also noticed before purchasing my pair that coupon discounts for the nuraphone existed and found a site that gave me $100 off but postage was around $60 so effectively i received around $40 off the price. Although my listening has been less than a couple of hours the difference was notable to the two aforementioned models. I would just need to emphasis that setting up the aura's is an important process. Anyway as they say to each to there own. regards to all

EXPIRED: Luxman M800a power amp
jimypeny2 replied to Vinnie69's topic in Stereo, Home Cinema, Headphones Components
Apparently bi-amping makes it go even further (according to Sterophile's review). The pre-amp has the facility to enable 2 M800a's operate simultaneously. Or am I just being greedy? -
EXPIRED: Luxman M800a power amp
jimypeny2 replied to Vinnie69's topic in Stereo, Home Cinema, Headphones Components
Best amp I have ever tested and which I ended up buying. Works beautifully with the Luxman C800f's (preamp) and the dyna audio C4's. If I had more money i'd buy a second one. I think it was listed on Sterophile's A list of amps. Good luck with the sale -
SOLD: FS: Rotel 1090 preamp
jimypeny2 replied to gemini07's topic in Stereo, Home Cinema, Headphones Components
Unbelievable offer. I have the Rotel RC 1090 and despite what one media outlet has said it compares very favourably with even pre-amp's worth ten times that amount and I'm not kidding. I own a luxman preamp worth around $15k and I think I know what value is all about although I still love my luxman. -
Thanks people at Magenta. My system came in a couple days ago and it is exceptional. Very good depth and stage presentation. Bass is deeper and the mids are great. Neighbours will no doubt disagree with my assessment. Again thank you for this opportunity to own this gem. regards Jimmy

If anything, assuming the product comes up half as good as the feedback received so far, it opens up Halcro as an alternative place to consider when shopping for products. If and when I need to upgrade I will certainly consider Halcro.

I have the same Rotels and can attest to their quality. I have upgraded to something over twenty times more expensive but still can't part with them. I keep thinking that I will use them one day in another room even though I keep them stored away. Strangely, my remote has also gone missing. Good luck with the sale.

SOLD: Luxman L-507u Integrated Amplifier

Hi fellow Luxman lovers I just want to add my support for the Luxman products. I have the M800A amp and C-800F preamp which although the amp is only 60 watts of class A power it more than has enough power to run the Dynaudio C4 speakers that I also have. Amazing products. I tested pretty much everything out there at double or triple the price and power and I think that they are represent interesting value. Only thing is the amp does get hot which is expected. Enjoy what you have fellow Luxman lovers -
Just started listening to the Bladelius Thor Mrk III and Gondul S and now I understand why people rush to try out their cd's and records again; to listen to the differences in sound is great. Everything is smooth and sound stage is great. Only problem is I just got told off by a neighbour for playing it too loud. It wasn't even close to 3 o'clock on the dial. Guess I may have to move house to really enjoy these speakers : ( But in all seriousness, once I get over the fact that I have blown my budget I can start to enjoy them a little more. I haven't hooked up the Rotels yet to compare. I'll just milk them for a few more days on the Bladelius than swap them for an AB test. regards to all

Unbelieveable, thanks for the promptness of everyones ideas, I didn't even have enough time to make a cup of coffee. I will try them though first with the rotels and hope to ring Klapps and ask them to bring in a couple of suggested preamps and amps with the speakers. I think the rotels should be able to drive them and have heard them drive the BW 800D's which sounded quite ok. Also like the look of Hugo's Manley 300b preamplifier and the Pass Labs X250.5 power amplifiers. I might just wait for their arrival either today or tomorrow and test them out. regards to all

Hi all I have just purchased from Klapp Hi Fi a pair of Dynaudio C4's after auditioning Sonus Faber Olympica III, Martens Django L, and Whatmough 505's. Although all the speakers were good, and I think I liked the Whatmough's the most, I received an offer too good to refuse (plus wife gave in to the fact that it was father's day) so I settled for the C4's after 6 years of looking. Delivery is for this tuesday I think. But I have a problem, I don't know which preamp/amp to buy for the C4. I currently have a pair of Rotels (preamp 1090 and amp 1080- 200watts) which have rarely been used but know that they would probably not service the C4's well especially the disparity in price, although I have yet to hook them up. I don't want to spend more than $8k-9k for the preamp and power amp combined and have heard that the C4's are fussy with power. Any thoughts? Mank thanks to any ideas
