  1. I've got a blacksand violet z1 on my transporter, nice cable. I believe the aussie version uses the Clipsal 56P310 plug (a mate of mine sent him a box for testing). Another option would be the IeGO copper cables advertised on audiogon/ebay, for the price you can't go wrong (65 USD) - it's near on impossible to do a DIY cable for that...
  2. both used pairs sold, new/tentlabs repaired pair still available
  3. most memorable was probably nirvana supporting the violent femmes at fishermans wharf, early 1992 from memory, awesome performance...
  4. The Pateks certainly look like nice amps, but bear in mind they are basically gainclones with a fancy chassis... (gainclones being the term given to DIY copies of the 47labs gaincard amp) The guy who makes the Patek's also sells DIY kits (http://audiosector.com/lm3875.shtml), so assuming you are capable with a soldering iron and capable of stuffing a PCB you would be able to build your own for a few hundred bucks. If happy with the sound you could then spend a bit more on a decent chassis, better caps, etc.
  5. the tweeter is at 990mm, spikes are ~35mm, so around 1025mm
  6. sounds about right, which reminds me all accessories supplied by Osborn are included in the auction, spikes, spike cups/washers for hardwood floors, etc
  7. I'll measure when I get home this evening, to hazard a guess with spikes installed somewhere around 980-1000mm
  8. Thanks JA. I'm not going to argue over the content or intention of the above posts, but at the end of the day myself (and several others) read more into the post than may have been intended. Anyway, with a little over 1 day left on the auction someone is going to get a real bargain...
  9. Nolz, I was referring to Jimmmy's post, sorry for any misunderstanding...
  10. in my opinion they have been on the market for this long due to - my lack of commitment to selling them - my location, both for shipping reasons and osborn being relatively unknown in this area - and prior to listing them on ebay I had not advertised them anywhere other than in this thread i'm not sure what to read into your comment, if you had a concern about the speakers or myself then perhaps it would of been courteous to contact me first via pm/email/phone.....
  11. I don't have the original packaging, but I can request they are packed in a similar manner (foam and double cardboard)
  12. thanks... still early days, but a few more bites would be nice
  13. these look like fantastic value  http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...em=220199232130
  14. for those interested, I have the following quotes from Pack'n'Send to ship the speakers interstate - Sydney $190 (incl packing) - Melbourne $260 (incl packing) insurance for $2000 is an additional $40
  15. Hi Joz, I am happy to ship to Melbourne using Pack'n'Send or similar method. PM me if you are interested
  16. I've pretty much decided on the replacement, but that's still a few months (5?) away....
  17. now listed on ebay .. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...em=220199232130
  18. interesting to see that you went with the acoustic signature, which model did you go for and did you buy it locally? I'm also curious to know if you considered other high mass tables, such as the teres, redpoint, galibier, etc. I've been thinking about going with a Galibier table, but the high shipping costs are looking like a deal breaker at this point...
  19. one used pair sold pm replied
  20. I have 3 pairs of Tentlabs DHT filament supplies (5V - 2.5A) that I am no longer using. 1 pair are new - recently returned from service from Tentlabs (they were DOA) 2 pairs are used - about 100 hours total. both pairs sold refer to http://www.tentlabs.com/Products/Tubeamp/T...ment/index.html for info/reviews, or search audioasylum, audiogon, diyaudio for more info. I was using these on 300b filaments, but they will be OK with any other dht with 5V filaments and up to 2.5A draw. The original price was 120 euro for a pair (+shipping), I am looking for $150 for the new pair and $125 for each used pair. pm or email dbarnierATgmail.com

  23. thanks for the endorsement hopefully potential buyers feel the same way about the pricing
  24. bump, we are currently building a new house so these are sitting in storage not being used. I would let them go for $2000, the only catch is it would be hard to demo them in our current situation but can pull them out of storage and demo for serious buyers. PM or email dbarnierATgmail.com for my mobile no.
