there is a relative bargain 300B which comes close to the WE300B (late original production) in voicing and performance... I can't tell much difference between the two in my Shindo 300B, so more than happy to use the cheaper for everyday listening and only roll out the WE300B on very special occasions early post war WE300B might be different but I can't afford nor justify them.

Paul, thanks for having me over for a listen to your system and for your outstanding hospitality, pizza and great coffee. Lovely sounding speakers, very balanced top to bottom, seamless crossover integration, nice bass extension and impact. They bring back fond memories of my old Klipschorns which sounded very similar in scale, dynamics. Would love to have another listen when you get the new autoformers and inductors wired up.

are they only 1.5mm (14awg)? looking at them i would of thought at least 12awg? if 12awg dcr should be around 0.25 ohms using the chart that north creek publish for their inductors http://northcreekmusic.com/NorthCreekCoilPrices.PDF imho replacing the mostly average midrange autotransformer would be a nice upgrade... it made a huge difference on my old Klipschorns There's a guy in Germany that makes some very nice double c-core autoformers. I did have a pair suitable for Klipsch networks but can't recall if I sold them or not, if interested I'll have a look around http://www.ebay.de/itm/Autotransformer-passend-fur-Altec-and-other-Horn-Projekte-/221435457601?pt=Lautsprecher_Selbstbau&hash=item338e94f041 http://audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=516061

the suggestion was a method which avoids the need to trim the misaligned sheets at the end, if you're already doing it that way why exactly does it need to be trimmed? but to answer your question, no -

sounds expensive for what is a menial task, unless you have a mate that can help (it doesn't sound like it?...) do you have a router? if not invest in one, doesn't have to be expensive + a decent flush trim bit get one piece/layer of your plywood cut to the exact dimensions, get the other pieces cut 5 or 10mm oversize in both dimensions laminate your reference sheet and one oversize sheet together (e.g. glue + clamp or heavy weights), as each bond dries trim the oversize sheet back to your reference sheet using the router + flush trim bit. Repeat for the rest of the layers It can be time consuming but you will get a better result than trying to align the sheets while gluing/clamping, and nice square edges assuming your reference sheet is cut well. (or at least that's how I do it...) -
Shipping floorstanders overseas
damohpi replied to gainphile's topic in Speakers, Soundbars and Subwoofers
when I shipped a large pair of speakers to USA best rates I could find where through ship2anywhere.com.au (DHL door to door service) crating had to be arranged separately, but there are quite a few companies who will come out and crate on site, check yellowpages or google -
had a couple of Hoegaardens tonight, not sure if I agree with their reputation but they were cheap enough at $46/case delivered
