Sennheiser Momentum 4 over ear wireless headphones with ANC. Hardly used, near new.
  1. Unfortunately my TV gets in the way as the center speaker would block some of the screen at the bottom. Although you cannot see it, the center speaker is tilted upwards. Still sounds good. Dialog is clear even when listening off axis.
  2. Hi Todd If i want to listen to music with both my mains and rears (DTS or Dolby Surround) i actually run the fronts at full range. I actually preferred the built in Audyssey on the Marantz as it sounds "fuller" with more body to music than the app. Would have loved a few more speaker presets on the Marantz for further customisation of the sound. REL subs seem to be known for their musicality. Must sound awesome with 2. Cheers

4 Metre long pair of Van Den Hul CS122 Hybrid speaker cable with gold plated banana plugs. Purchased 3 years ago. Hardly used.
  3. Hi Todd Yes i did turn off that midrange compensation parameter before uploading into my AV unit. I have not tried doing just that range as i tend to run my sub for both music and HT. Crossover at 80 Hz. When i feel the need to experiment more I will try that to see how it sounds. I have set my second speaker preset with just the mains (no sub or other speakers) and these do sound pretty good full range though I like the extra kick that the sealed sub brings. The moon power amp certainly has some hefty bass impact as well. regards Dazz
  4. For anyone interested, attached are the in room frequency curves from the Audyssey app for the main speakers and centre channel.
  5. Hi All Hope you all had a good Christmas. I have made some new purchases this year to replace some old equipment. Current System consists of Marantz Cinema 40 (New) Panasonic DP-U820 4K blu-ray player Marantz CD6007 CD player (this one features the AKM DAC) Moon 330A (Simaudio) Power Amp (New) SVS SB2000 Pro Subwoofer SVS Prime Centre speaker Castle Satellites Surround Speakers Acoustic Energy AE520 Floor standing speakers (New) Nordost Heimdall 2 speaker cable (New) 65" LG GX 4K OLED TV My last upgrades were the Moon 330A power amp and speaker cable which i got this month. I am no purist and more than happy to mess around with the different parameters on both the AV unit and sub to get the sound I want. My lounge room is 4 x 5m with system on the long side. No room treatment except carpets and curtains. I am limited in where I can place everything. Having played around with my AV settings including running Audyssey (I have the app), I now have the sound that suits my taste. It did take awhile. Great clarity on the midrange & treble. The bass is fast, tight and punchy, and well controlled. Great sound stage as well. I am really impress with the AE520s (the reviews I read were spot on with their description of the sound) and the Moon 330A seems to bring out the best in them. They seem to seamlessly integrate with the sub as well. Whether playing Enya. Metallica, The warning or even K/J-pop (Whiplash by Aespa absolutely rocks), it all sound damn great. The only cons I have are minor. There is no multi-channel music mode like in my previous Marantz AVR (6003) so I listen to my music in Stereo. The multichannel stereo mode sounds terrible and Dolby/DTS I am still experimenting with for music. I also tried eARC but found that I could not get the pure surround modes when watching netflix etc. It also restricted me to 3 surround modes - stereo, multichannel stereo and Dolby surround. I am currently using a toslink connection instead (gets me all the pseudo surround sound modes) and use the DTS:X Neural mode for my TV. Seems to work a treat with a pretty decent placement of sound. In terms of movies played through my blu-ray player, the Marantz presents a dynamic soundstage along with precise placement of the different sounds. Overall I am very happy with my current system and this will probably be my last set of upgrades as i will need money for my retirement in the next 5 years! Cheers Dazz

Original first sealed sub by SVS. 12" sub-woofer with 450 watt BASH amplifier. In good condition. Has both high and low inputs and is excellent for both HT and music.
  6. Oh i was looking in another site and someone there had the same issue with his eARC only having 3 surround sound modes. It appears to be an issue with the last update which I did when I first set it up.
  7. Hi All I did take advantage of the discount on the Marantz Cinema Line i got the Cinema 40. Big upgrade from my old SR6003. The things a beast! Cheers
  8. I have the LG GX 65" OLED which has eARC on HDMI 2. That is connected to the eARC HDMI on the AV. I have gone through all the settings on both the AV and TV. Will have another look this weekend and probably look through the manuals I have downloaded as well. Will also take up you suggestion on changing the sound format to see if that makes a difference (its set on auto at present). While the new Menu on the cinema line looks neat and tidy, I have found that the menu system on my old SR6003 to be have been more flexible. There is a sound option that is not on the new AV. The multi-channel stereo uses all the speakers which on my system is 5.1. Not a big fan of having music go through a center speaker. The old SR6003 came with a 4.1 music option which sounded excellent as well as a 5.1 for movies. While there is an option for a second speaker profile I have yet to work out a way to switch to that on the fly ie via the remote, allocate that only to multi-channel stereo or to an input.
  9. Thanks I will have a look but I have looked under the HDMI settings and dont see anything in there to change. Output sound format is on auto.
  10. Hi All Was wanting to replace my aging Marantz SR6003 from 2008 so settled on 2, the Anthem MRX540 and Marantz Cinema 40. I have since purchased the Cinema 40 as its on special at present. I have attached a few pics. Set up was a breeze. Sound wise it has a more precise sound than my old unit. It did take me some time to "tune" the sound to my liking. Finish on this unit is excellent. I have even changed the colour of the lights on the front panel. This unit does not have a AM/FM tuner which is no great lost as I never used it on my old one anyway. While my TV and this unit both have eARC, I am using the toslink instead as it give me more sound options (I like the DTS Neural:X) as the eARC only seems to give me dolby surround or stereo. Otherwise very happy with this unit and the sound. Cheers

One owner. SVS Prime Pinnacle 3-way floor standing speaker in Gloss Black. Only 3 years old. Great sound and includes both the rubber and metal spikes. Speakers have 5 drivers, 3 x 6" bass drivers, 1 x 5" mid-range and a 1" dome tweeter. 1 set of binding posts so cannot be bi-amped.
  11. I did see that one on the website. At this stage I am thinking of getting the MRX 540 as i already have a power amp thats used for driving my mains. Currently a 5.1 system and not really looking to go more than 7.1 anyway. Currently dont have room for even a second sub.
