  1. Thank you they are great speakers, and end game for many due to them being easy on the ear while still being very transparent and no need for a subwoofer. Serious auditions are welcome.
    • Price: AUD $24,000

Includes the grilles which retail for an extra $2k. As new this flagship A-Series 3-way/5-driver model is the most popular in the current Magico range, but has hardly ever appeared on the used market previously, for good reason. Read the many reviews and some think it exceeds the performance of many of the Magico S & Q series more expensive speakers and is seen as a bargain versus many $100,000+ speakers. This is because Magico has developed many world-first advances in driver, crossover and enclosure technology, it leapfrogs earlier, more expensive Magico models to become arguably the most complete speaker ever produced in its price range, in terms of measured as well as subjective performance. A5 enclosures use the same aircraft-grade aluminium and construction methods made famous in Magico's Q-Series, while drivers are derived from their top M-Series. Each uniquely-braced 82kg cabinet sounds completely resonance-free. The following excerpt from Jeff Fritz’s (soundstage ultra) review summarises nicely the sound quality from the A5s “The A5 produces deep, linear, weighty, detailed bass; clear, neutral, present mids; and highs that always reveal and never detract from the music. The A5s produced soundstages that could be vast, and images on those stages that were precisely placed and sized just as you would imagine they should be. I loved listening to all types of music through these speakers for hours on end, and at wildly varying volume levels. In all those hours, I heard no weaknesses in their sound.” https://www.soundstageultra.com/index.php/equipment-menu/1042-magico-a5-loudspeakers Many reviews are available including Absolute Sound, Stereophile, TONE Audio and hi-fi+. The A5s have unprecedented stiffness-to-weight ratio in all drivers, including their first 5" midrange, resulting in wider dispersion and transparency, increased dynamic range with effortless control and extension, all with a new level of musicality. The speakers have a sophisticated crossover as outlined in the following review https://www.soundstageaustralia.com/index.php/reviews/457-magico-a5-loudspeakers For once, a long list of impressive technical advances you can read about online, actually translates to what is obvious when you listen. It makes the price tag seem quite justifiable. When less than half price in this condition, complete with shipping cartons and all accessories, a rare opportunity!
  2. Hi what you are seeing at the speaker terminals are Jorma bi-wire speaker cable, Stillpoint e-Loops and Synergistic Research X-OT impedance stabilisers. The speakers have a sophisticated crossover as outlined in the following review https://www.soundstageaustralia.com/index.php/reviews/457-magico-a5-loudspeakers “ the first loudspeaker manufacturer to use the new M-Resist Ultra foil resistors from Germany’s Mundorf. The new resistors are said to handle higher power levels while also providing “greater… transparency and liquidity.” A number of additional high-end Mundorf components have been employed in the crossover circuit – evidently, Magico maintains its highly refined crossover design philosophy across the A series too. The 3-way crossover network features a 24 dB per octave Linkwitz-Riley filter”

  4. Hi thanks for your kind comments speakers are Gauder RC7 Mk2. Love the speakers and moved up the line in Vitus power amp. Just more of the great Vitus sound - will never look back and I have owned many valve and other SS amps in the past. Cheers
  5. Further Information: Building on the reputation and performance of the immensely popular RI-100, this RI-101 updated model is a sonic improvement in every way, despite similar appearance and specifications. Higher resolution has been achieved with upgrades to power supplies in the preamp and power amp, as explained in reviews. Rated Class AB output is 300W RMS @ 8 ohms and 600W RMS @ 4 ohms, biased into Class A for the first 12W RMS @ 8 ohms so that most listening is in Class A mode. Huge power reserves for control and dynamics are achieved using a 1kV transformer and 216,000 microfarad capacitance per channel, which partly explains its 40kg weight. 3 pairs of XLR inputs, 2 pairs of RCA inputs and 1 pair of XLR outputs for connection of a subwoofer or second power amp are included, as well as comprehensive settings selectable via the front panel controls. For those who crave the musicality of valves but with the advantages of the best solid-state amps in bass energy and control, attack, detail, ability to drive any speaker with ease and lack of maintenance, this amazing integrated amp has to be a top contender. It presents as new and comes with remote, USB manual, test report, velvet bag and original carton for safe transport. Only recently superseded by the mkII at $29,995 and rising soon, it offers true high end capability at a bargain price. A couple of the many outstanding reviews: The HIFI Plus February 2019 review discusses the upgrades over the previous RI-100 model and the trickle down technology that has been included and discusses in great detail the musical signature. Here is the link https://hifiplus.com/articles/vitus-ri-101-integrated-amplifier/ The conclusion reads: “Musically it has all the Vitus hallmarks of really elastic rhythmic focus and precision coupled with excellent tonality and balance. I can see it being an excellent investment for the serious music lover for years and years. When an amplifier is this good, it has to get a recommendation from me.” The SoundStageAustralia.com review gives a nice description also of the amp: https://www.soundstageaustralia.com/index.php/reviews/148-vitus-audio-ri101-integrated-amplifier
  6. Further Information: Brand new genuine B&W ZZ11770 Tweeter. This is the diaphragm and magnet assembly for models: NAUTILUS 802 (N802), NAUTILUS 804 (N804), NAUTILUS 801 (N801), NAUTILUS 803 (N803), NAUTILUS SCM1 (NSCM1). I bought several of these to replace tweeters in my B&W speakers and this was kept as a spare. Have sold the speakers so no longer required.
  7. Further Information: Furutech’s top of the line all out assault on best speaker cable they can build - read the reviews. Professionally built as new Furutech DSS 4.1 speaker cables. These are 2 x 3.5 metres terminated with Eichmann silver bayonet plugs. Plenty of rav reviews showing it out performs $10k+ cables. Example “Singing, indeed, is the operative word when describing the sound of the Furutech DSS-4.1 speaker cables. Needing to finish up a review, I substituted the Furutech cables for my reference cables. When I brought the Furutech cables back in to the review system, I was struck by how much more alive the system sounded. The change was so significant, I worried that something might be amiss tonally, but I quickly determined that what I was really hearing was more information being conveyed. There's no doubt about it, the Furutech cables brought to the fore all of the elements that I appreciated in the system. Resolution, imaging, soundstage, tonal accuracy—all markedly improved” These cables are magic at taming aggressive systems with bright edgy sound enabling a wider range of music tracks more listenable. They provide a velvet black background with an enormous-depth of soundstage with performers layered in a lifelike 3D presentation. shootout comparison: A), Cardas’ Golden Cross (2.5m pair- $3,200 USD); B), AudioQuest’s Meteor (2.5m pair- $5,600 USD); C), High Fidelity Cables’ (HFC’s) Ultimate (3.0m pair- $14,000 USD); and D), Stealth’s Dream v16 (3.0m pair- $18,000 USD). Against Furutech’s beast, the Cardas and AQ cables were veiled, blurred, and sluggish. Their sonics were more tainted than Flint Michigan tap water. The bass registers sounded like a drunken racehorse that’d sucked back a case of organic wheat beer and 16 pickled eggs had blown a toxic, thunderous, and one note fart. Stated succinctly, there was no comparison in sound quality. Across the frequency spectrum, the DSS-4.1 SCs delivered significantly better PRaT, timbral accuracy, and a more lifelike sound than the AQ and Cardas models. http://novohighend.com/furutech-dss-4-1-speaker-cable-review/2/ https://positive-feedback.com/reviews/hardware-reviews/furutech-dss-4-1-speaker-cables-dps-4-1-power-cable/ http://singaporehifi.blogspot.com/2019/02/furutech-dss-41-speaker-bulk-cable.html hi

  8. Graham I have another SN member who has said he will purchase yesterday and sent me his address. I will let you know if this sale proceeds, otherwise happy to send to Sydney. Thank you for asking. Cheers M
  9. Hi Tim yes its firewire to firewire. Cheers
  10. This was custom built for me by Curious cables out of 5N pure silver using the highest grade connectors for my Weiss DAC202. I replaced the Weiss a few years ago with a Mola Mola Makua DAC after 3 years searching for a DAC that was better. This cable was a large improvement over my previous Oyaide silver FireWire cable which I also still have if someone wants both. Clearing out my cables. Thanks
  11. Curious USB rated as one of the best USB cables in the market. There are so many reviews stating how great this cable is: ”It does not sound quite like any other USB cable that I’ve heard. In my view, it brings many of the key strengths of vinyl to the table – bass impact, fluidity, a lack of grain, and the ability for vocals and instruments to fill out acoustic space like the real thing. “ “The Curious Cable cast a very wide and deep soundstage, easily more so than any other USB cable in my arsenal. This made my system sound “bigger” than usual, with orchestral works sounding particular grand in scale. Low frequencies were also delivered with slam, heft and the right amount of bloom”
  12. Further Information: was a large improvement over the regular usb which was already good. The evolved model has a more relaxed and spacious presentation with a more solid bottom end. In a recent review it was voted better than the Nordost Oden. n | Audio Magazine https://www-magazine--audio-com.translate.goog/usb-comparaison/?... “After running each cable for around 200 hours, it became obvious that one model definitely stood out from the rest, it was the Curious Cable Evolved. ($820) made in Australia.” “The bass is tense and deep when it comes to being, the midrange is natural and the extensions in the high frequencies provide a clarity that is difficult to do without, especially compared to the 7 other models when comparing them. In short, everything is there and there, it's just musical. In direct comparison it takes less than 15 seconds to clarify the situation and validate our champion”
  13. Further Information: Reduced for quick sale. Will accept reasonable offers. The Antipodes DX3 Gen 3 is the third generation of Antipodes flagship one-box model, integrating autoripper, server & renderer functions, and is a Stereophile Class A+ Recommended Component. You will read in media what a significant upgrade the Gen 3 was on the Gen 2 model. It comes in the original protective triple box. There many superb reviews and I am only selling as I had an opportunity to buy a K50 significantly more expensive. I am the original owner and it was $10k when I bought it replacing my CAPS Zuma+$2k linear power supply combo. It is a truly a musical streamer/server, and I have been extremely happy with its performance. This one is in black, is in excellent condition, only used in my smoke-free, pet-free and more importantly, and has had a recent health check and software update by Antipodes. It runs Roon, Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify etc. and also has 1TB of SSD storage. https://www.stereophile.com/content/antipodes-dx-reference-music-server https://darko.audio/2016/06/reference-grade-roon-with-the-antipodes-dx-gen-2/ https://audiophilestyle.com/forums/topic/38528-antipodes-dx-gen3-vs-innuos-zenith-mkii-se/ https://www.hifi-advice.com/blog/review/digital-reviews/network-player-reviews/antipodes-dx-music-server/

Germane to its $3K CAD level price, the resolution, imaging, and dynamics of the DSS-4.1 were all a lot closer than I expected them to be to compared these low five-figure level speaker cables. http://novohighend.com/furutech-dss-4-1-speaker-cable-review/2/ https://positive-feedback.com/reviews/hardware-reviews/furutech-dss-4-1-speaker-cables-dps-4-1-power-cable/ http://singaporehifi.blogspot.com/2019/02/furutech-dss-41-speaker-bulk-cable.html
  15. Hi I just connected the speakers to my Mola Mola DAC/ Vitus power amp using banana plugs and am surprised at how great they actually sound. Shows what a quality front end can do for cheap speakers. A black screw cap could be easily sourced I would think, but works without. The price of $150 does not include the stands. Cheers M
  16. Further Information: I have owned this centre speaker since new and price is less than 1/3 of what I paid. It is in very good condition, and from what I can see online he price I am asking is lower than second hand prices in the USA and UK. The speaker is great and I am only selling as I am living in a smaller home with no home cinema now. The centre speaker is the most important speaker in a home cinema with most of dialogue coming through the centre. I have tried it with various surround speakers and it works well with a number of brands without seeming to have any integration issues. The voices come out very clear and rich. Following is what one reviewer had to say on this speaker: "My personal philosophy in shopping for a five-channel home theater speaker system is to always start with the center channel. Pivot your research around the best quality center channel that can fit within your speaker budget. Many new home theater enthusiasts do not realize the vast amount of sound information that is transmitted through the center channel. It is not only dialog, although this is of great importance, but a good deal of music and effects also are funneled through this channel. So, if one purchases a center channel that has difficulty discerning between important dialog and other effects, his home theater experience will suffer. In doing my research for this review, I found the B&W Nautilus HTM1 to be at the top of the heap. In my opinion, it is one of the best dedicated center channels on the market. The accuracy and clarity of dialog was completely engrossing. One can completely step into the clothes of a character with the help of this center channel. Even subtle, but important vocal inflections, intended by the actors to convey a particular emotion, are experienced in more detail through the Nautilus HTM1.
  17. This is a bargain for anyone who wants to get into high end valve amplification with limited funds. American amps of the same quality/valves are double or more in cost. GLWTS.
  18. Ausif is a real gentleman and this cable is a bargain. Read the review on the DA2100 and it is everything it says. I have dealt with Ausif and he is a man of his word. Cheers
  19. Oh man! Missed out been Uber driving my kids around. Wine, cheese, great stereo what more could you want!
  20. Hi PRAT is an acronym for Pace Rythym and Timing. Pace is the speed of the music equipment and cables can change the sense of the speed of the music. It can sound slow, or just right or little fast. Rythym is relationship of successive notes and where the beat is emphasised. Timing is the accuracy of reproduction of a wavefront comprising many frequencies. It is different from Rhythym and Pace. The arrival of these frequencies to the listener from the speaker should be as close as possible to the real life event. When PRAT is good it is often first noticed by the tapping of people's feet to the music being played. Good PRAT means better musical enjoyment.
