  1. Glad you got this sorted. I've had a modded P25 (bought from a fellow SN-er) for a few years now and love it. Sounds terrific, and for my money, one of the best looking TTs out there. The Garrott P77i is a great match. Enjoy.
  2. Many thanks Peter, I'll check that out!
  3. Great info, thanks Mark. I picked up a modded P25 a while back via the SN classifieds, and they'll be taking it from my cold, dead hands! A wonderful, classy table even without the mods. Curious to know how much of a difference the 24V/Neo combo made over the original motor, with or without the Heed PSU. I've often thought of trying out the Heed but they're quite rare and usually pretty pricey. Mark Busby certainly looks the goods! Peter, great looking example of this classic turntable, GLWTS. Cheers, Brad.
  4. Thought I'd revive this due to a recent discovery. I have plastic outer sleeves on pretty much all of my LPs, but had never noticed the dreaded mist effect on any of them until yesterday. I pulled out a copy of "Are You Experienced?", which I hadn't played for yonks, and noticed some misting, in a very specific pattern - you'll see from the attached image there's a definite square shape cutting across the far edges of the record. Must be the heavy PVC sleeves, I thought, but on checking other LPs using the same sleeve I found none of them had any misting. I checked the other two Hendrix LPs I'd bought at the same time as "AYE" and found the same misting issue. Going back to the square shape I realised it was an issue with the inner sleeve - which is paper with a plastic inner wall. The misting lines up perfectly with where the plastic has been glued to the paper sleeve. Guess I'm in the market for new inner sleeves for these records... Anyone else come across this? FYI I've noticed no hissing or whooshing, other than what Mr Hendrix and his engineers put on the record...

  7. Further information: I bought this a couple of years ago. Sounds great, I put about 40 hours on it then got a good deal on a Garrott P77i. I was keeping it as a spare, but as the Garrott has a replaceable stylus there’s no need to hang onto it, so out it goes. 12. My AI500 has become very volume shy when I play records. I've connected my turntable to a backup amp and it plays fine, and all the other outputs on the AI500 are working. There's no apparent change in brightness for any of the valves, so it doesn't look like a simple matter of valve replacement. Grateful for any advice. Brad
