Pair of very high quality Tannoy studio studio monitors featuring the 15" 3833 dual concentric drivers (picture of specifications from the manual below). These were designed by Tannoy for use in mastering suites and studios but also work very well in the home, providing an effortless, full-scale reproduction. The cabinets are a very strong and stiff construction with plenty of damping internally. I have enjoyed these with a wide range of amplifiers, from 20 watt valve amps through to 200 watt digital amplifiers. In every context they have produced a wonderful sound that really allows you to get lost in the music. Unfortunately they don't fit easily into our current house so it's time to move them on. Mechanically and electrically in very good condition however there are some marks to the cabinets with the finish worn in places, particularly underneath.

If your music laptop is a Mac you could Pure Vinyl software from Channel D in conjunction with a digital audio interface with Mic pre-amps. The signal from your cart. is amplified and digitised by the digital audio interface and the software applies RIAA correction in the digital domain (as well as other editing if you feel inclined). You can record each record as you play it and add it to your digital library. I've used this with good results using a Tascam UH-7000. Another option to consider, although not inexpensive, could be the Sugarcube range of digital phonostages, some of which look to have digital output. I've not used one but they appear to be well received.

As you can see from the pictures the 'table is in very good conditions although would benefit from a bit of a dust and polish. The motor was replaced in 2005 and hasn't seen much use over the past 8 years. Springs for the lid were replaced around the same time, as was the belt and the deck was fully serviced. We moved to a smaller house earlier this year and they've had very little use since. It's been a tough decision to work out which system to keep and which to sell - still not sure that this is the right decision! The Silver Phantoms provide a wonderfully clear and engaging presentation that quickly has you forgetting the system (at least until the bass line kicks in) and getting into the music, no matter the genre. Each Phantom has an optical input, as does the Dialog, allowing you to connect various devices - TV, games console, media streamer etc. The Devialet Spark application allows you to stream music stored on your computer or phone/tablet, as well as integrating services such as Tidal, Deezer, Spotify, Qobuz and internet radio stations and podcast services. I found the Disco Antistat worked well enough, but quickly ditched the supplied cleaning fluid in favour of L'Art du Son. The better fluid resulted in a more thorough clean and eliminated the occasional residue issue I had with the Knosti fluid (and you really don't want residue issues with a DV17 cart).

The Heresy was introduced in 1957 and has been in the Klipsch lineup in one form or another since. One of the great things about these 'speakers is that they are at their best sitting on the floor, hard up against the wall and out of the way. No need to mess around with stands or positioning intrusively into the room. I've owned these from new (perhaps 15 years?) and used them in a number of different systems and houses where they've never failed to put a smile on my face. Most recently they have been part of the family system, paired with Luxman integrated and Squeezebox. Mechanically and electrically in very good condition, the cabinets are showing their age with a few nicks and scratches. Given the black finish these should be pretty easy to touch up for an as-new appearance. Pictures:
