I would snap these up but have no need for another pair! I love mine. These were reviewed by Stereophile and received their "Class A" rating in 2019 https://www.stereophile.com/content/recommended-components-2019-fall-edition-power-amps GLWTS -

My wife and I are enjoying it so far. -
Item: Krell KAV 300i integrated amplifier *NOT WORKING* Price Range: Free Item Condition: Used Extra Info: pick up from Adelaide This was the pride and joy of my system since buying new in Jan 1996! Late last year it stopped turning on. Instead of repairing I thought it was time to try something new and I have replaced it. Its S3 input is configured as HT bypass. Would rather it go to an SNAr than throw it out! Includes power cord! No remote, I used a universal with it.

$800 is a stone cold bargain! If I didn't have one already it would be gone! GLWTS -
While not the same situation I've also found less can be more. My more expensive system is where we watch movies in a granny flat out the back. I listen to most of my music around the house on some little Sonos Play 1s while I'm doing other things. Its really enjoyable and nice not to be in critical listening mode!

That's interesting. Perhaps it was a limited time offer. I definitely have the hifi subscription.

I've been buying from them on and off for years. Never had a problem. I would recommend. -
But if you look around I got a year for $107

Deezer hifi is $17.99

I also use Deezer. I find more artists I like especially some rare Australian stuff which isn't on the others. I also like Flow. I have noticed that when occasionally my wifi is a bit on the dogy side it will limit the amount of songs I skip. This is when using the Node 2i. But other than this I have never had a problem.

As a Deezer user I appreciate your feedback

I've seen a review on youtube where they swapped out 2 PSAudio M700s to run two Crowns bridged for Magnepans! -

Crown XLS1502 experiment

Pretty good really. I suppose the midrange might be considered a little thinner sounding than the Krell. The treble is a little less natural more grainy sounding. The soundstage is not as full and 3 dimensional. Which is something I didn't think would be affected too much by an amp. But really in the two months I had it in my system I really didn't notice it being deficient in any area really. Very neutral. Great value especially considering the price. -

Apparently this is where Dan Agostino got the name from. -
Hi all, This isn't a review per se, just my thoughts on my experience. I bought a Crown 1502 power amplifier a couple of months ago for $669. After seeing many youtube reviews it was to see if hype about it being value for money was warranted. I fully expected it would be swapped out in short order and relegated to powering two of my home theatre channels. I really wanted to live with it for a while to give it a fair go. I was expecting it to sound different but I wanted to get accustomed to its sound in order to give a more informed view if it was worse, just different, or even better! In order to do this short term A/B testing wasn't an option for me. But deep down I was preparing for disappointment. For reference my two channel rig consists of a PS Audio Stellar Gain Cell Dac Preamp feeding a Krell KAV 300i which I've had since new for 24 years and run as a power amp. Sources are Tidal through a chromecast Audio, and a Laptop via usb. As well as a sony Bluray player which because of a Kanex Pro device I can strip the audio from SACDs and feed it in DSD to the PS Audio in high resolution. My speakers are Vaf i66 MkIIs. Initially I intended to keep it in my system for a month to give it decent go. It really was a pleasant surprise how good it sounded. Nothing really stood out as wrong. Clean and neutral sounding came to mind. I ended up leaving it my 2 channel system for another whole month before swapping back my Krell this morning. It really is good value for money. Scarily I wasn't expecting to the Krell to sound much better and had a terrible feeling in the back of my mind I might actually prefer the cheap amp. But now I have put my Krell back into my system, wow! Many more goosebump moments! My Tidal test track playlist sounds fine through the Crown but now the Krell is back in the system the music really shines. Particularly in midrange detail, warmth in the bass, and just sounding right. At least I know if my ageing Krell needs repair at some stage I have a decent amp to replace it while it is being repaired. And just for the record IMO the Crown is amazing value for money. Just thought I would share. Cheers

I think the DCX63 is discontinued. I can't find any reviews online but there is a thread about them here If you are still looking to build a kit yourself Vaf stopped producing kits a few years back.
