Im not sure, I think it was set to "cable select", so i changed it to what i thought "master" was. (edit: ive now tried this method with all jumper settings - i think.)
Yes.
Yes.
No. I can see the PVR's drive when i open Disk Manager in windows, but it says 'unreadable' and wont let me add or change a volume letter It gives me no details about the drive whatsoever - just that it exists. When I open IFS Drives in Control Panel, it comes up with an error, "device is not ready." and will not open.
Therefore, no, and no.
As it is now, ive changed the settings back to what looked like "cable select", so i can chuck it back in the box and record while im out tonight.
Can you show me what the settings are for all those options?
This morning i also fat32 formatted a 26.5GB HDD, and connected it to the box via usb at the back, tried doing a transfer that way and was going to leave it all day / night. It seemed to get to 21% of transferring the movie, and then the transfer box disappeared off the screen. I unplugged the HDD and connected it to the laptop, which worked fine, opened up the folder which only had File1.ts - 1.75GB. Why did this happen and why didnt the transfer finish?
I realise from what you've said that transferring it by that method means that I will end up with multiple files of 2GB approx, but I can always connect them or whatever once converted to .avi. I just dont understand why the transfer didnt complete in the first place!
Arghh this is starting to annoy me... but i spose my lack of technical nous doesnt help either.
UPDATE: I just tried connectint it back into the box, turned it on, and it came up with "Harddisk Error! May need reboot or format the drive. Press OK to start now."
My god this is painful!
