  1. I went to order the danny green fight on main event tonight, an it was nearly $50! Who are foxtel kidding. I will not pay that sort of money for a few hours of tv. It may even only go for a few minutes, danny has a record of knocking people out early on in the fight. I thought the main events were only about $15. Are they always this expensive?? Is there anyone out there who is willing to pay this sort of money?
  2. Online manuals are becoming the norm for most electronics. This is a good thing. Fair enough, you shouldnt have to wait all that time for a hard copy, but to be honest, there isnt any need to have a hard copy. If you cant figure out how to use IQ, you probably going to have trouble reading the manual. It is seriously that easy to use.
  3. There are lots of factors to consider. The ps3 can have a larger hard drive installed in it very easily and cheap, it uses a laptop hard drive, so is great for media. It also has blu ray, which is far superior to dvd in many ways. Also, there are the console exclusive games, like halo, gears of war for xbox, and gran turismo 5, and uncharted 2 for ps3 to name a few. Most games come out for both systems, but i think the xbox usually has the better ports, as it is easier to program for. The xbox also has a lot more games, and has been out a lot longer. Then there are the reliability issues. Xbox RROD is well known, but the ps3 has started having problems caused by a build up of dust heating the console, causing the soldering on the circuits to fail, although this is pretty rare, compared to rrod. People have been saying for years that ps3 is the more powerful machine, that developers just need to get to know it a bit better, then we will see the console dominate. But, its been out a while now, and the consoles are still very close. I have the ps3, the big deciding factor for me was, blu ray, and the media capabilities, as well as the up coming gran turismo game. But i would be very happy with xbox. What ever you get, you will love it.
  4. MGS4 is a must get, IMO it is the best game on this platform. I have played it through 6 times, and am on my 7th play through. Im doing the big boss extreme challenge. Also, good is GTA4, Killzone 2, and uncharted. A good driving game is grid. Stay away from haze, turok, and golden axe.
  5. WOW, thankyou very much for this, i had no idea the remote was so good, i have so many remotes, now i dont need them anymore. When i watch HD channels, the audio is much quieter than SD, so i am constantly having to grab the amp remote. not any more, thanks to you.
  6. Hi nalanga. You should be able to recieve digital tv quite easily, but you may need a decent digital ariel. If you dont want to install one on the roof, Dick smith have indoor ones which are about $50, they are rabit ears that have an amplifier in them. When using rabbit ears, keep is as far away from the tv as possible, and have the "ears" horizontal, rather than in a v shape. Channel 9 for me has the worst reception, but it is still prety good, sitting at about 85%. I hope this helps.
  7. Ive actually never updated my tv, i have 650, ive never had any problems with it. Does anyone think i should?? Does it really do much at all, ive had it about 3 months, absolutely no hint of a problem, i love it.
  8. You may have lots of effects set on the tv, set it to game mode to see what happes.
  9. When i first turned on my new lcd, i was shocked at how bad the picture was, i had it connected to a sd hdd recorder. Pixelation, blurry terrible picture. I played around with it for ages, nothing changed, i then looked at the HDD, and found out i could upscale to 1080i. Well after that, the picture looked so much better, almost as good as blu ray. If you are watching tv connected to something like a STB or HDD recorder, check the resolution output, it may be set to 576, which looks terrible.
  10. I think the ps3 is great, it does many things, not all of them as good as stand alone equipment, but the difference is minimal, and it is in one nice neat package, saving money and space. People go on about noise, i think this is stupid, do people really watch movies at such a low volume that you can hear the ps3? i doubt it. I like the blu tooth remote, sure i had to buy it, but the cost is very low. As for the xbox being better, well, it is very personal decision, if you want something that plays games well, but does little else, by an xbox, save money. The ps3 does so much more, great as a games console, BD player, browser, soon to be HDSTB. As for IR, i wouldnt worry about it, personally i like LCD's better, but thats my opinion.
  11. You will find fairly cheap lcd at seconds shops, but i think hd tuner only comes in at 26 inch, i got one for $599, it is pretty good, i needed it for ps3, and i also run pc on it.
  12. The problem you are having is the your tv cant display the hd signal, you need to reconect it to your mates tv, change the settings, and then it will work. You need to tell the ps3 what connections you are using, unfortunately, if you cant see on your screen you cant change them, so back to your mates you go. I hope this helps, i also had the same problem, although i only had to go to the next room.
  13. I just got a samsung, series 6, it has a very shiny screen, but i dont notice any reflections from it at all. When i was at the shop, they had a series 6 and a series 5 sitting next to each other, the difference in the picture was quite dramatic, and the relections were undetectable, I think the frame of the tv reflects light much more than the screen.
