  1. It's official! Southern Cross Ten will launch Eleven in the aggregated markets of Queensland, NSW, Victoria and the ACT simultaneously with metro TEN on 11 January 2011. No word on Tasmania. Link to Media Release: http://www.asx.com.au/asxpdf/20101213/pdf/31vk92jx82wx4d.pdf
  2. Southern Cross Television has announced 7mate will commence broadcasting in Tasmania (on LCN 60) and Darwin (on LCN 70) from Sunday, October 24. They have also announced a digital only Channel Nine service for Spencer Gulf and Broken Hill viewers to commence from Sunday, October 31.
  3. Some have noted that the digital signal can be heard in the Wollongong area. My mother lives in an elevated part of Albion Park. She currently gets a crackly but listenable AM signal on a normal radio. She also gets good Sydney television reception. Would like to know if anyone has had success getting digital radio in that area.
  4. New registrations at IP Australia by Nine Network: "9 XTRA" and "Nine XTRA". NBN Ltd has registered the name "NBN XTRA".
  5. That's what it said in the first paragraph of the article and the name is printed with the capital B for "By"... "7TWO By Prime". No date yet. The article says December. Here's the link: http://www.afr.com/business/marketing_media You need to be a subscriber or buy the paperto read the full article. Don't waste your money... it's not that interesting.
  6. The Australian Financial Review is reporting that the debut of 7TWO is imminent in Prime's broadcast areas. The channel will be known as 7TWO By Prime.
  7. The second paragraph is the most interesting: "...Leckie said Seven had not decided the program format for the newcomer, which will join the main Seven channel and 7TWO. But he confirmed it would appear in 2010". Rest of the article talks about digital penetration and shares and the hope that digital will steal viewers and revenue from pay tv operators. Let the games begin... again. I think Leckie knows exactly what format this channel will adopt. Given that Seven has registered the names Jim, Jimmy and Dave with IP Australia it's a pretty safe bet this channel will skew young male. They should consider a good ocker name like Davo, also. If the networks get permission to broadcast sport on their secondary channels, I can see it being used for sport, wrestling with other male orientated programming migrating from 7TWO, leaving 7TWO to cater to women with it's mix of lifestyle and soaps.
  8. It's getting closer... Mods may want to rename this thread. mate! Checked to see if name is registered... it is.
