  1. can't edit my post now for some reason - Heroes DLC gone now FYI.
  2. So over it... tried unblock-us, tunlr, and a billion free proxy sites either got the "only available in the UK" message, or I would get the start of the process, but once I've logged into flixster all I get is a white screen on the step 2 "Link" screen. What a crock.
  3. I ran into the same issue when I attempted to use Tunlr with my batman begins/TDK UV code. I'll try a few more proxies/update PC settings to UK tonight, see if it works... if not, well I may or may not have a copy of TDK floating around as an .avi anyway 8GB download wtf? how is that a "take anywhere" copy lol... I imagine the quality is rather good...
  4. Hey I have a Lego Batman 2 heroes DLC to trade - preferably for a villains DLC code! Or make an offer... If anyone is interested let me know
  5. Hi all, Looking to get a 32" LCD in the next month or two, I have two 19" Samsungs that I got free with Optus phones a few years ago, I dont think they are HD (maybe a HDMI port?.. anyway) I am pov so have been looking at AWA/DSE branded 32" LCD for around the $398-498 mark. Also saw some cheapy Pana/Sharp/Vivo models around the same $500 price, but seeing as I would prefer extended warranty would prefer the $400 mark (which takes it to $500 when you add in the warranty these things should come with more than 12mo).. most say they are 1080P (or 1080 via input), but none make reference to the refresh rate.. where as I notice more expensive models make sure they mention they are 100Hz. Is this because the cheapies are less? Does it even matter? Will be a lounge TV, used for casual gaming/dvds etc (I will pick up a BR player a few months after the tele though). Anyone had any issues with DSE/AWA brand? I am not a videophile but I dont want ghosting/issues as I will notice obvious problems. I will probably think of more stupid questions to ask later.. any input appreciated :-D
  6. I was pretty gutted when I got foxtel about 6 months ago, I tried optus first as they would have been cheaper for what we wanted (at the time anyway), and got told the bad news that I was a few months too late to sign up. Damn.
  7. Thanks for the help. It was a faulty unit, I exchanged it for another one which works fine. Well fine through 2 walls being a bit like a little rough analog reception, not crystal clear like advertised lol, but hardly an issue. HOWEVER the IR extender doesn't work at all gaaahh... I hope that's not faulty.. I'll have to try it with something other than foxtel to isolate it. Also - 2.4Ghz gives a better signal from what you say? I tried a 2.4GHz cocoon about a year ago but my wifi is on 2.4ghz and kept interfering unfortunately.
  8. Oh yeah I had a NES games disc for my PSX too... terrible terrible emulation haha... and no save feature like the Xbox ones allowed later down the track. Suppose it would have been good at the time.
  9. Oh man, the VCD player, I forgot about that.. that was an actual hardware plugin though yeah, I didn't think the console needed to be modded to run it. I saw one in an EB years ago for $20 and was tempted, but my fancy $300 dvd player could play VCDs (hahaha, and was the size of a small car). I do remember a "homebrew" porno game that one of my friends bought back from Thailand for the PSX actually lol, ended up with me then someone else stole it, what a laugh. There's always the "import games" excuse.. but PS3 is already multi-region so it kills that argument. I read somewhere where people were using the "Yes, now I can develop xyz homebrew for PS3", to which one reply was along the lines of "well that was possible with Other OS... but NO ONE did it, why does it take being able to pirate a game for people to be interested enough to tinker with the homebrew stuff". RE: the "PS3 still hasn't been hacked".. well I suppose, I guess reverse engineering the thing is an achievement in itself, but I guess it's technically correct that the security cell or whatever it is hasn't been breached.
  10. heh.. I still have my modified PSX.. was there anything you could do on that BESIDES play pirated games? I picked up an Xbox classic for free a year or so ago as well, and softmodded that for the fun of it/XBMC but I did inevitably end up with some copies of games, I didn't feel too bad because you can't buy the games any more though, or at all, ie. rent-a-hero (although there is a computer store in southland selling some old games like Max Payne 1 for Xbox for $99 haha, umm no) I have a 360 and have about 16 games, I dont plan to have it modified any time in the near future.. HOWEVER.. if a "solution" like this USB dongle came out to modify a console, be it my 360, or if I had a PS3 I would probably utilise it to get the most out of my console, but temptation would probably end up proving too great and I'd end up with some copied games.. even if I didn't intend to! Temptations aside... I think it's great that someone figured this out - only because I am envious of their ability, I don't want the game devs to be hurt while the console is in this stage of it's lifespan.. although 360 seems to be going ok. I wish I could wrap my brain around stuff like that, I think it would be fun (but ultimately frustrating) to try to crack something like that.
  11. Hi all, I couldn't create a new topic for some reason (maybe because I haven't posted yet - Hi!), so I hope someone can help me in this thread got one of the $89 Bauhn AV Senders (5.8GHZ). Connected transmitter to foxtel via an RCA hub/switcher (because the input on the Bauhn is a RCA --> 3.5MM jack) it's <10M from the remote tv, through one, maybe two walls depending how the signal travels, but all I get is an intermittant flickering of grey/black signal and occasional sound (kind of of like a macrovision error IIRC what that looked like lol). I did somewhat of an isolation test, turned off my 5.8ghz phone (further down the house), and even the 2.4GHZ wifi/microwave, and a 900mhz wireless headphone base in the remote tv room. Same result. To make sure it wasn't the foxtel/hub I also connected an xbox and a dvd player direct to the transmitter - still the same result. I tried all 8 channels multiple times, moved the antenna etc etc... is there something I am missing? Do I have a faulty set? It was driving me crazy, if anyone has any tips before I storm back to Aldi for a replacement or my money let me know!
