Bunya replied to Sansui77's topic in Stereo Amplifiers & Pre-Amps
Hi Sansui Fans, I just picked up an Au-7900 and absolutely love it. I was just wondering if anyone out there has a spare TU-7900 or TU-5900 they are willing to part with? Cheers Stew -

Luc i recently landed an AU-7900 and am very happy with it. Given the above photo and your previous collection, I was wondering if you still have a spare matched tuner (tu-7900) you would be willing to part with? Cheer stew -

Sansui AU 717 prices and where to get one from?
Bunya posted a topic in Stereo Amplifiers & Pre-Amps
Hi I'm starting to think about buying a Sansui AU-717 . I have read all the comparisons between the 717 and 719 ( build quality, pre-output , 717 sounds warmer etc) so I think I'll aim for the AU -717. My question is what's a realistic price for : A restored AU-717 Unrestored AU -717. Do most people look to overseas to source one or do they show up in Australia? Does anyone have any experience with Japanese versions like the AU-707? Should avoid amps with step-down transformers ? Thanks in advance for any advice. Cheers Stew -

G’day all , I’m looking for some original k3128 or k3149 crossovers, would appreciate any leads or advice. Cheers Stewart
-
Red its definitely a pepper pot, and based on the net search I have completed, the crossover i pictured was a tannoy 1012 network for the k3128. I admit they look the same as the HPD's. I'll definitely look at the glenair crossovers. Thanks for the lead.

Ash I was wondering what other plans are in this book? Are there any that would suit Monitor Gold 12s? Given the book is in Japanese, are plans easy to follow? Thanks in advance for your feed back. Cheers Stew

Thanks for the words of wisdom. So I can fine tune my search, what would be a reasonable price for 15' Golds?..... and what would be your upper limit on 12s?
-
Hi I have an opportunity to pick up some mint 12" Golds, I was wondering what's people's views on them and what they are worth? These will be my first dual concentrics, so i'm keen to get my purchase correct from the start. I will be listening to jazz, latin and other world music on them and have other speakers for the gritty heavy music ( Wharfedale e 70's). Thanks in advance for your wisdom. Cheers Stew

Scotty I can't wait to hear your review on the StereoCoffee Preamp, once when you have received it and had a chance to test it! I have been searching for a similar preamp/phono stage for an old Onkyo Model 931 power amp I have. Cheers Stew
-
No I would love to buy a pair, just wanted to hear your review after listening to them for a while.

Did you find a pair of Ardens?
-
Yes I would live some sceptres ! If I can’t get some 70’s onkyo speakers. I will try and slowly accumulate drivers and crossovers to make a pair myself….. I already have some matched bass drivers …. cheers stew
