  1. It would be nice to test it out if it was an option for sure. What do you think of pairing them with the Elektra HD2?
  2. Yes my apologies, I did mean power amp! Have edited the post. The reason I got the A6A is for the HDMI 2.1 capabilities and I had a Yamaha RX-A3080 before that and I was happy with the AVR. However I recently upgraded my TV to an 83" C2 OLED and wanted to be able to take full advantage of all the features, e.g. 4K 120Hz, VRR etc when gaming on the PS5. I have had a look at processors that can do 4k120Hz/have HDMI 2.1 etc... but they all seem to be from brands that are probably about double the price, if not more than what I paid for the A6A - from memory I paid about $3100 on sale. I previously had my Zensor 7's powered by some Wyred4Sound MC7150 amps and I do believe it improved the sound over just using the the Yamaha A3080.
  3. G'day all! I'm looking at upgrading my front stage to a pair of Dali Oberon 9's and a Dali Oberon Grand Vokal centre! I'm looking into power amp options now to drive them too. Been looking at the Elektra HD2's and have seen some good used prices on here for them in a 7 channel configuration. Do you guys think these are a good option? The Oberon 9's have a recommended power of 25-400W and the Oberon Grand Vokal is 25-200W. I'm thinking I'll either get just a 3 channel amp to power the front stage, or I'll get a 7 channel if I can get it for a good priced. The rest of the setup will be my current 4 Dali Zensor 7's, currently running through a Yamaha A6A. Thanks all!

  6. They get warm/hot, but not as hot as my AVR does when driven hard. AVR gets nearly too hot to touch, the amps don't get near that.

  16. Hi all! I'm looking at getting a Sennheiser HD 660S and a dac and amp to power it for on the pc. I'm currently looking between a second hand Topping DX7 PRO vs SMSL SU-8 + SMSL SP200. So was wondering if those of you who are more knowledgeable, could tell me which one you think would be better run! Thanks alot! Edit: I can get them for the same price, so wondering which would better
  17. I am interested, if you are negotiable on price (found it cheaper elsewhere, second hand as well) and you would post!
  18. G'day everyone, Just wondering if I could pick your brains for recommendations for curtains and rails... I'm looking for curtains and rails that go floor to ceiling for 2 sides of my home theatre room. The room is about 6.1 metres long, one side has a big triple window and the other has a double door (with glass windows). I would like to get some good black out curtains to block out all of the light and I decided to go full length for the length and height of the room as I've seen a few pictures of that setup and it looks great - I think it would add great atmosphere. I won't be doing this for a while, so just looking for some recommendations and ideas for it! Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks all Pic of my current setup for attention (not where the curtains will go) ☺
  19. Yeah it is powered. Tried having it off at power board and unplugged - no Bueno
  20. ² Thanks, mt couch is that "Rhino material" but the base is all metal as it's a recliner couch. I'll give it a go!
  21. I forgot to include in the original post that it only started doing this after upgrading to having amps as well - rather then just the AVR It wouldn't be anything to do with that, as I'm playing the media through the Shield, which is connected via Ethernet Don't get up? Do you think some left over speaker wire would work? And what would you earth it to? Just dangling to touch the floor or?
  22. Hey guys, have a strange problem... I'll attach a video if i can, but basically when I get up from the couch most of the time the audio and video will cut out for a few seconds... Thanks in advance all!

  24. G'day all, I' just upgraded my setup and am trying to set it as a 9.2 surround with my Yamaha RX-A3080 AVR. The problem I'm facing is I had to plug the middle speakers into the front presence and in the setup options there only seems to be options of: Front Height, Overhead and Dolby Enabled SP... Would anyone know it is possible to do 9.2 with this AVR? I assumed you could as its advertised as a 9.2 one but yeah...
