onthebeach Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Bought myself an Astell and Kern Junior a couple of weeks back. It supports aiff which is one of the main reasons I started looking at it. My whole library is in aiff and was ripped by dBpoweramp in secure mode. Although the meta data is supported and I can see artist, album and song on the Jr I cant get any album art to show up. I've checked the tags and album art is embedded within each track. Had no problem with my last 'player' which was the iphone 4s. I converted one album from aiff to flac and the Jr showed the album art straight off. Same meta data...just with the artwork. I'm presuming that the Jr doesn't support album art with aiff but thought I would check in here to see if another A&K owner is using aiff codec and getting the artwork. Maybe I'm missing something and there is a quick fix. I could either put up with no album art or convert it all to uncompressed flac....not sure which is the greater pita.... On a brighter note I'm very happy with the SQ. UI is horrible and having no album art is not very pleasant but the SQ is really pleasing which I guess is the main thing.
PleasantSounds Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Not sure if this is it, but some players have limitations regarding the image resolution.
onthebeach Posted April 22, 2016 Author Posted April 22, 2016 mmm could well be. In my mind if aiff is supported then it should be fully supported and not just half supported. Plenty of other products and packages can get album art up for aiff so its a bit disappointing that Astell & Kern don't. anyway...
