Luis1553552738 Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 My son in Wellington has a problem with his Wharfedale diamond 9.2. Any recommendations for a repairer? He lives in Mt Cook, and walks everywhere ( ie has no car ) Thanks
Gary.M1553552674 Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Mike Stace at Centrade would be my suggestion but he is not in the city centre. Sent from my HD2 using Tapatalk 2

three bob note Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Just had a small job (cabling discrete op-amps to an 8-pin adaptor) done by buzz audio in Wellington. They did a nice job of it in good time at a good price.
rob11553552726 Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 I have used Axent Audio for half a dozen repairs over the years. They actually repaired stuff which I thought would need new parts. Quick, polite and the bills have been what I expected or less each time.

ade_sn Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Headphone cable repairer in Wellington? Maybe just needs re-soldering but don't trust myself

Since then I have had a couple of Celestion tweeters in for repair and have got nothing but the right royal run around. They fixed one good and the other was a mess (unmatched fragile wiring one side beautiful silver braid on the other?), sent it back and they replaced the wiring with another bit of unmatched scrap wire. Upon closer inspection I realised they had also torn the diaphragm! No getting anything but promises since then....
silversurfer Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Looking for someone in Auckland to fix/refurbish a Pioneer SX1010.
40Hz Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Try Fred at Retrotronics. He perked up my Luxman R-1050 for me.
Owen Y Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 Chriquet Electronics: Can someone give me Chris's email address? I seem to have lost it, buried on an old computer. Thanks.
Owen Y Posted September 2, 2013 Posted September 2, 2013 You want to repair what ? John Gilmore for electronics, see earlier post, this thread.
Class A1553552771 Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 I can recommend Centrade in Miramar (Wellington). He repairs speakers but may do electronics as well.
Class A1553552771 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Just confirming that Centrade does electronics as well.
Gary.M1553552674 Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Just throwing my hat in the ring... After doing a repair and upgrade job on a Plinius 2100i for a forum member I thought I could offer the same service for others with Plinius integrated amps. Also the small power amps derived from the integrated. Availability dependent on my work load. PM me here for details.
Guest Guest Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Good One Gary offering to help Plinius owners--you'll seemingly get bugger all from Plinius themselves--I have a friend in Sydney with a channel out on his SA Ref--I offered to write to Plinius asking for help Slience oh silence-never a skerrit reply My advise on that treatment is to think carefully before buying. I had a 1229 and as far as I can recall it was reasonably easy to lube. Not sure about the Q version though. Give it a go yourself? Can't really do too much harm after all, can you? Or is the "lube" to solve some issue?
