What in Analogue Have You Bought Today?

My sister had this album and used to play it a lot....it brings back great memories of early teen hormonal issues and it's about time I had it in my collection.

Neil Young "Harvest" 2009 'Neil Young Archives Official Release Series' remastered reissue. Remastered by and lacquer cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering. Discogs notes give no hint where it's pressed.....hopefully Optimal?

 

 

Also via Discogs, Pretenders "Packed!" NM German 1st pressing (Record Service Alsdorf), mastered by Bob Ludwig..

Also via ebay, The Cure "Amsterdam 1979" Unofficial release (bootleg), live concert recording. A good line up of songs.

After a lot of research and contemplation, yesterday I put in an offer on ebay for a set of 4 year old Fyne Audio F502 speakers and it was accepted.

Speakers in perfect condition and come with two decent lengths of QED speaker cable and 2 Van den Hul RCA cables (which I can put to good use!). 

So with my 'end game' amp and speakers now settled on (although speakers may change when I retire and get access to my super), I will stick with my TT and CD player for awhile now before making anymore moves. It's nerve racking making these purchase decisions but exciting at the same time.

Added this to my collection today. If you’re looking for a relaxing Jazz record this isn’t the one. However if you would like too experience how two widely separated cultures are able to communicate through music then it’s definitely worth a listen.

I bought this turntable package with various upgrades from @illusion and it is a terrific improvement on the cheap equipment I was using. Also picked up (for 5 dollars!) from elsewhere this set of Von Karajan Beethoven which sounds very sweet on the new TT. Thanks very much to @illusion who was  very generous with time and advice.  Given the week started with a busted amp and nothing to play it has turned out very well.

Just now via ebay, after Rarewaves sent me a discount notification email, with this on my ebay watchlist.

 

Empire Of The Sun "Walking On A Dream", new 2024 Limited Edition German repress (Pallas)......in yellow mustard vinyl. Love this album.....have had the CD since first release.

Just now via Discogs, INXS "Underneath The Colours" NM Oz 1st pressing. Third attempt at getting a good copy of this album.....went with a local pressing and I think it was @April Snow or maybe @Full Range (memory test and I might still be wrong!) that suggested this was the way to go.

First one I got was a Dutch pressing and besides the refundable flaws it sounded awesome but could not find one at a decent price. This one cost enough!

Fingers crossed it's a good copy.

Excellent I think it was me  but it is an excellent pressing - as it was recorded at EMI Studio 301 in Sydney so should be nice and fresh.

I have this one and think it is fabulous - hope you love it too

Bloody hell......just found out this album exists (thanks to @tubularbells on the vinyl spinning thread. Never knew about it before tonight.....found this new one at a great price on Discogs and couldn't resist. Wow.....really rapt.
