stevoz Posted September 29, 2023 Author Posted September 29, 2023 (edited) Just now on Discogs....a youtube video lead me to this (although I already have White Music and GO2 on LP, bought in the late 70's), checked it out and really like it: XTC "English Settlement" NM 1982 UK repress, 2 x LP. Post edit: Cancel that...I just did. Seller just massaged me saying 'sorry, the postage to Australia is 11.50 Euro's more than the ad said' Why was it available to Australia then?! Frickin' idiot! KRSDarwin Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 Acquired some vinyl recently from Dutch Vinyl and added this book which has been an enjoyable read. This paragraph within the book reflects some of my sentiments 6 3
stevoz Posted September 30, 2023 Author Posted September 30, 2023 Got another copy, same UK repress, cost 8 euro's more. NM. 6
gasman1003 Posted September 30, 2023 Posted September 30, 2023 New arrival. I enjoy watching foreign language crime dramas from Europe and often they have excellent theme music. This last is a case in point, a Swedish singer-songwriter with quite an extensive discography whom I may have never happened upon without the TV drama. So much music out there and so many ways to discover it. This is the song used as theme music, but on first listen the entire album is very nice indeed. I will be exploring her discography further. Anna Ternheim - "Keep Me In The Dark". 3
stevoz Posted October 1, 2023 Author Posted October 1, 2023 Just now on Discogs.....the scotch has kicked in.....and after catching up on the 'Vinyl Currently Spinning' thread.....thanks again to @metal beat. stevoz Posted October 3, 2023 Author Posted October 3, 2023 I suppose this qualifies as analogue. Should be a good read and I will have to watch the 'Australian Story' with these two lads on IView. Would be nice to see the lads reconcile with Daniel (or is that the other way around) and go out with the bang they deserved. 4

Watched the 2 part Australian Story and really enjoyed it. Especially great seeing Chris talk, who's been very incognito since the band's breakup. I also would love to see them reconcile, but can't see Daniel coming to the party. 3
stevoz Posted October 4, 2023 Author Posted October 4, 2023 Just now on Discogs, Talking Heads "Speaking In Tongues", new 2013 reissue, lacquer cut at Bernie Grundman Mastering by Chris Bellman, pressed by Optimal Media GmbH......should sound real nice. 5

stevoz Posted October 15, 2023 Author Posted October 15, 2023 Just now via Discogs, Talking Heads "Little Creatures" NM Oz 1st pressing. Steve Winwood "Back To The Higher Life" NM Oz 1st pressing. I found an article which said there is only 500 copies.....500?! Why bother? If they're going to go to the trouble of making a lacquer and stampers.....why stop at 500? Hopefully they have a change of heart seeing the first lot got snapped up and do some more. Edited October 16, 2023 by stevoz 1 1

Why not make 14 copies and make them really limited especially since it was never released on vinyl 1

I just wonder if it was a band starting out, would they have the same exposure if the songs are so so ?

If the band is big, they will try and milk the $$ from every orifice of the customers. The last Depeche Mode album which was 3 sides was retailing for $150 thru Sony Australia. WTF 1
