rsa17 Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 Just bought a fully automatic Apan turntable today, and it came with 5 albums. 3 x Stevie Ray Vaughan, 1 x modern Toto double album, and a sealed copy of Rage Against the Machine album. Going to move the RATM and Toto albums on if you know anybody that would be interested? 6 2
wasabijim Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 from Amazon.au - no idea of the release or reviews on pressing etc... Warner Music, Release Date 2024 1 1
stevoz Posted October 30, 2024 Author Posted October 30, 2024 Just now from Rarewaves, via Ebay (cheaper than the Rarewaves website sale price + postage): Deep Purple "The Now What?! Live Tapes" 2013 German (Optimal) pressing.....with the great Steve Morse.....a nice line up of Purple hits plus some new ones co-written with Morse that have his definite (Dregs) flavour, which I love. 4
Almaz Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 Interesting find at a garage sale on the weekend. A Jazz direct to disk recording purely made as a sample copy for manufacturers to show off their different products. 4 2
evil c Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 Just arrived from a Discogs seller, Peter Gabriel - New Blood. My digital copy sounded so good , I just had to get it on vinyl. Not disappointed either, worth the expense! 7 1

metal beat Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 Daniel Carter, Tobias Wilner, Djibril Toure, Federico Ughi – New York United Volume 2 + the 2022 reissue of Thievery Corporation – Sounds From The Thievery Hi-Fi - this sounds a whole lot better than the Saudade reissue. Lovely dynamics with xclent bass. 6
Dystoria Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 Picked up a 1978 copy of Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds from Rocking Horse Records. Sounds terrific. Great soundstage and Richard Burton is perfectly cast as the sombre journalist. 6 3

stevoz Posted October 31, 2024 Author Posted October 31, 2024 (edited) Popped into my local Vintage Bazaar this afternoon and found a "3 for $6" crate.....why they are so cheap when there is LP's in other crates from $10 each up to $45 each that are in no better condition, I have no idea.....so I grabbed these three....and all appear NM. Janis Ian "Between The Lines" Oz 1st pressing.....the album with 'At Seventeen' on it. Michael Franks "One Bad Habit" Oz 1st pressing. Wa Wa Nee "Stimulation" 12" 45 rpm EP.....this is mastered by DB.....bonus! 80's Aussie synth pop! Lastly, this was $5, Howard Jones "No One Is To Blame" 12" 45rpm single. I believe this is a Tony Taurins cut, due to the triangle preceding the first two letters MX in the run out etching. Should sound good....pity it's a fairly boring ballad as I've since discovered. Kieron Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 We had some great mastering engineers back in the day. Don Bartley, Tony Taurins, Alan Parson and Steve Smart to name just a few. 1 1

Australia certainly had and still has some mastering engineers who are up there with the best in the world. DB and SS are still going. 1
