stevoz Posted February 18 Author Posted February 18 Went back to my favourite German LP seller who charges next to nothing to post additional items while searching for the first album below and this was the result. Judie Tzuke "The Cat Is Out" NM German 1st pressing (Teldec). Ian Dury & The Blockheads "Do It Yourself" NM German 1st pressing (Teldec). Mike Oldfield "Five Miles Out" NM German 1st pressing (Sonopress). Sniff 'n' the Tears "The Game's Up" NM US 1st pressing (Monarch). Being a US release, it misses out on the 'nipple out' cover that the rest of the world got. I don't care either way. 3
stevoz Posted February 19 Author Posted February 19 Never knew this basically 'best of' Genesis album even existed until I just noticed @Full Range played it earlier on the Vinyl spinning thread. I've often wondered about a good Genesis compilation/best of.....this has a superb line up of songs and a Japanese pressing to boot? Hell yeah! Just now via Discogs, Genesis "The Story Of Genesis" NM Japanese 1st pressing.....surprisingly at a great price! 3 1
Ash76 Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Received 4 items in the mail today. One was a new stylus - my first replacement since around 2016 so was probably overdue. I've been waiting for a reissue of this album for years given how expensive originals are - one of my all time favourites and they've done. Brilliant job with cloth bound sleeve The Lemonheads - Car, Button, Cloth 1996/2025 deluxe reissue 5
Ash76 Posted February 19 Posted February 19 Got really lucky with this one. I did a search on eBay and found this record up for auction. There were no bidders at that stage and it had a crazy but it now price of $750. Anyway I placed a bit not much higher than the opening, crossed my fingers and waited. As there were already several people watching the auction when I bid I was expecting a feeding frenzy and to get priced out however there was only 1 bid that took the final price around halfway between the opening bid and my top bid. Sometimes you get lucky. Toad The Wet Sprocket - Dulcinea 1994 Brazilian pressing 3
Ash76 Posted February 19 Posted February 19 My last new arrival - I only found out about this release when people started posting it after they started receiving copies around Christmas time. I found a copy on Amazon but being a bit of a cheapskate looked around and found a slightly cheaper copy on eBay which I promptly ordered. I received a shipping notice but no tracking so after about a month of waiting, I contacted the seller who a couple of days later advised they had cancelled the order as they were out of stock - so much for the shipping notice. So I got the refund and hunted everywhere for an affordable copy - a couple of Discogs sellers who didn't ship to Australia. In despair I finally looked on Bandcamp and what do you know - copies still available directly from the band so I promptly ordered and it arrived today. Badfinger - Head First (1975) 2024 first pressing 2

wasabijim Posted February 19 Posted February 19 just now from Discogs / Northside Records, Fitzroy all Oz acts at good $$ when you see what some O/S operators list them at
Ash76 Posted February 19 Posted February 19 This was an interesting looking blind buy Me First - Sorry Hangover 2000 US pressing 1 1
Almaz Posted February 23 Posted February 23 I think this classifies as analog. Pick this up this morning after seeing it on gumtree yesterday afternoon. Comes with 24 cylinders, two voice coils the horn, box of needles, and a cylinder catalogue from 1917. I absolutely love getting things like this and becoming the custodian of something so precious. 9 3

Almaz Posted February 23 Posted February 23 All cleaned up, oiled the wood, fitted the horn, come up pretty good. It does feel good to own a wonderful piece of musical history. Just need to organise a belt and she lives again. The gentleman I purchased it from yesterday, Peter told me it was his Grandfather’s and has been sitting in the ceiling for 60 plus years. Still pinching myself that I actually own it. 10 1
crtexcnndrm99 Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Arrived last week, one of those Discogs buys where the condition is as described 2
stevoz Posted February 24 Author Posted February 24 (edited) Just now via Ebay, Visage "Fade To Grey: The Singles Collection", brand new 2023 limited edition remastered reissue, ?US pressing.....two extra tracks plus replacing the 12" version of 'Fade To Grey' with the single version (which is better anyway). I have checked out Visage albums over the years but never bought because of what I would consider inconsistency but with all the IMO, 'better' songs in one package, this got the nod. gbb Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Never knew that about Visage. Thought they were a one hit wonder. Fade To Grey released in 81? 1
wasabijim Posted February 25 Posted February 25 just now, couldn't help myself when I saw this listing 3 1
Ash76 Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Had a package in the mail today. This album was made for a label that went under early last year before they could be distributed. Somehow they got sent out in December. I bought it off Discogs from a seller who appears to have multiple copies so probably linked to the label or distributor. The Presidents Of The United States Of America - Love Everybody 2004/2023 French pressing 2 1
Ash76 Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Same deal as the last album The Presidents Of The United States Of America - Freaked Out And Small 2000/2023 French pressing 3
crtexcnndrm99 Posted February 26 Posted February 26 Getting ready for some side by side comparisons with Brahms 1 now… Interested to listen to this live ‘54 recording remastered in Japan 2016 on the Altus label. 1
Maggie Posted February 27 Posted February 27 To all the bossa nova fans, you need this ! It sounds fantastic, pleasantly discover the new reissue lately ! Such a gem to my taste . 2 1
stevoz Posted February 27 Author Posted February 27 (edited) Popped into the local Vintage Bazaar after work today, knowing this was there and grabbed it for $15 after checking samples recently. I have 'The Pretender' and the excellent 'Running On Empty' and thought I should check it further and it's quite good. Jackson Browne "Lawyers In Love" Oz 1st pressing appears to be NM.....being glue cleaned now. Heading back there tomorrow to grab two other cheap LP's, pending condition, after doing the same thing (checking samples). Edited February 27 by stevoz 1

stevoz Posted February 28 Author Posted February 28 Came home via the local Vintage Bazaar to pick up two albums that I decided to buy after checking samples last night but one had been sold so just got this one. Duran Duran "Seven And The Ragged Tiger" Oz 1st pressing, Maxicut with lacquer cut at EMI Studios 301 by Don Bartley.....appears to be NM, glue cleaning now. I have previously ignored this album because I didn't think the singles were strong but the rest of the album seems to have merit. I have DD's first two albums with the self-titled debut also being a DB Maxicut and it sounds fantastic! 2
