crtexcnndrm99 Posted April 9 Posted April 9 @andyr eye Candy indeed! Reminds me of a number of koetsu finishes with its sheen (not that I’ve seen those in person unfortunately) 1

stevoz Posted April 9 Author Posted April 9 Inspired by @Spinspin69's upgrades of his DL103 in conjunction with my own long term planned upgrades (boron cantilever/micro-ridge stylus) for the same, I purchased a wood body for my DL103 but after some research, I'm going down the 'naked' path and getting this style, I assume from the same seller as you Slava(?), Stanley Engineering Shop. The one in the pic is mahogany but I'm getting the same in cocobolo wood. Will be getting Chris @cafe latte to do the job including the cantilever/stylus upgrade. Also, earlier today a quick visit to my local Vintage Bazaar, Frankie Goes To Hollywood "The Power Of Love" 12" 45rpm maxi single, Oz pressing....for $10. 4 2

I really like that nude body and the cocobolo - good choices. 1
stevoz Posted April 10 Author Posted April 10 (edited) Celebrated my 'almost paying out my mortgage' (or could I say almost closing 'the door' on my mortgage) through hitting my super because I'm now 65 (there's some advantages to not totally paying it out just yet).....by buying a 'special' copy of what I consider The Doors best album online from Warners Music Group (great price). The Doors "L.A. Woman" 2025 Rhino High Fidelity series limited edition reissue, lacquer cut by Kevin Grey, German pressing (Optimal). I considered going down the Analogue Productions route at (quite a bit) more cost but by all accounts this reissue is quite superb and as much as I love my few AP sets that I own, I really do prefer to get up to turn an album over once rather than three times....so this got the nod. stevoz Posted Friday at 11:10 AM Author Posted Friday at 11:10 AM (edited) Discovered this via youtube algorithm, written by Roland Orzabal and Ian Stanley of Tears For Fears, performed by Stanley and vocalist Eddie Jnr (Eddie Thomas), ie: Mancrab. Via Discogs, Mancrab "Fish For Life" 12" 45rpm maxi-single, music from the movie "Karate Kid II", German pressing......3 versions of this song, the 7", the 12" and an instrumental. The 7" here: Edited Friday at 11:11 AM by stevoz 2
jfds Posted Saturday at 09:53 AM Posted Saturday at 09:53 AM Record store day purchase today. Was never a great fan of The Stooges , however, you can't deny the energy on this album from Iggy. He was 75 in 2023 ! 3
cafe67 Posted Sunday at 08:29 AM Posted Sunday at 08:29 AM Didn’t get anything from RSD2025, but scored these 2 today at Urban Records - they seem have a have quite a few of these s/h Japanese pressings including a fair few jazz pressings 6 1
