I am not going to give them away but considering these are 8K new I figure 5K isn't a bad asking price considering they are only months old. mattjtaylor2809 Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Hi Towny,I'm now the owner of your Ayre 2 channel power amp & was wondering how these speakers would work with the Ayre?I was in Melbourne a few weeks ago for work & rung Klapp AV to have a listen but they didn't have a pair on demo.Cheers MattSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
b@ndicoot Posted November 20, 2016 Author Posted November 20, 2016 Hi Matt, I would imagine it would be a great match actually mate.. The slight top end roll off of the Ayre would compliment the horn loaded JBL's quite nicely! I really wish I never sold that Ayre by the way absolutely brilliant amplifier for that sort for money! Cheers, Tony
mattjtaylor2809 Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Been very happy with the Ayre, even better now I swapped out the Primare Pre30 to a W4S ST Pre. Seems a much better partnership, not that the Pre30 is bad, just seemed to loose control of more complex passages of music.I have seen a video on YouTube from an Ayre exhibition at a hi fi show using JBL's but I'm not sure they were 4429's.I really need to hear them before I could even contemplate buying them, even more so as my wife's not working full time following redundancy earlier in the year.I know this doesn't help your situation!GLWTSSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
