Administrator StereoNET Posted December 15, 2016 Administrator Posted December 15, 2016 WIN WITH STEREONET AND SENNHEISER SENNHEISER MARTIN SOLVEIG LIMITED EDITION IE-80 To celebrate Sennheiser's collaboration with top DJ, Martin Solveig, StereoNET has secured two pairs of very limited edition IE-80, a new version of one of the finest ear-canal phones on the market. The Limited Edition is valued at $599.95 and features a one-of-a-kind design on its housing, created specially by Solveig and French graffiti legend Noé Two. This Limited Edition version will not be available for sale, and can only be obtained through special promotions and giveaways. It will without doubt, become a collectors item. Quote Martin Solveig’s passion for the IE 80 project stems from his positive experiences of working with Sennheiser and using the audio specialist’s products over the course of his career: “I do very few collaborations with brands, but I’m very comfortable working with Sennheiser – partly as I’ve used their HD 25 headphones all my life when DJing, but also because they have committed to support artists in exciting ways and becoming a natural part of the creative process, which I feel is incredibly important.” To be in the running to win a pair, entry couldn't be simpler! Entry is only open to registered StereoNET members (including new members). Simply reply to this post with a photo of your current headphones or HeadFi setup. Add some sincere or witty words about why you would like to win the Martin Solveig Limited Edition Sennheiser IE80. There's no hard and fast rules, other than you must reside within Australia. Together with Sennheiser Australia, we just want to spread the Christmas spirit of giving at this time of year. The winners will be selected by StereoNET Admin, and entries will not be eligible after 12:00PM (AEDT) December 24th, 2016. regressor Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 I feel I should win because I've already spent all my disposable income on these beautiful HD650s, and the people in my office wouldn't appreciate my current setup!
Citroen Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 These are too damn heavy for my skinny neck, so a pair of those small, light flash blue and pink ear jewels would suit me just damn fine when walking the doggie! 8 hours ago, Marc said: There's no hard and fast rules, other than you must reside within Australia. betty boop Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 Would love a pair of IE-80s would be very handy as I travel a bit and ....cant really take my headphone rig with me 2
migasson Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 ...as if I need MORE kit.. but for purely selfish reasons, and the fact that I'm totally greedy, and don't want anyone else to have it, I feel obliged to enter:P 1
Guest Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 Keep 'em coming There's two pairs to give away and only days until we do it
powerav Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 I need this for bed time to drown out the sounds from the missus watching soapies on TV plus her snoring These are good but they hurt when I roll over, the Sennies look way more comfortable. 1
Litespeed Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 Help me get away from these guys and onto something with substance! 1
Kalincho Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 Willing to exploit my toddler on a public form for a new pair of .... Martin Solveig Limited Edition IE-80! 2
pete_mac Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 I've been a big fan of Mr Solveig since the release of 'Madan' and 'Rocking Music' from his album 'Sur la terre' back in 2003. Both of those tracks copped an old-fashioned smashing and were crowd favourites back when 'house' music was riding a wave of popularity in the early noughties. I belted out the Antoine Clamaran remix of Rocking Music in particular - the extra layering of percussion enhances an already iconic track! Sadly I never bought these tracks on vinyl - I had recently switched from Technics SL1200 MK2s to Pioneer CDJs around the time that these tracks were released. As much as I love my V-Moda M100 with XL earpads for home and DJ use (which... let's be honest... is nowadays limited to firing up the CDJs in the man-cave a few times a year!), they aren't the greatest cans for on-the-go. I'd love to win a pair of the Martin Solveig Limited Edition Sennheiser IE-80s as they'd be a MUCH better partner for my DAP and iPhone, whilst potentially allowing for some cheeky 'cross-over' DJ use for those random man-cave sessions where I pretend I am a superstar DJ and reflect upon what might have been... if I had a legion of fans... determination... dedication... and perhaps a handy sprinkling of talent. Having used my beloved Sennheiser HD-25 IIs for 15 years (now gracefully retired), I know the build and sonic qualities to expect from Sennheiser. 1

I like your style Surprised no one has included kittens/cats in their pictures yet? That seems to be the thing now
Jensway Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 I'll always jump on a chance to post photos of headphones. Here is my rosewood LCD2-Pre fazor sitting on bamboo. As much as I've always wanted Sennheiser IEMs, and would love these - there are other posters in this thread who deserve them far more than I do!

The HD-25 II's are great. I started my Senn journey with the HD-414SL's bought in the 80's, still going strong 30ish years later and only a few ear pad changes later! Numerous low cost but excellent value earbuds, PX100/200's, the 25's, and 650's followed. Still have most of these, and recently added some Momentums, which sound very good at their price point. 1

Mightygrey Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 I love my home head-fi station. While it sounds awesome when I'm tethered to it, I can't exactly take it "Places"! I spend so much time on the road with work that it's impossible for me to get reference-grade sound on-the-go. If I were lucky enough to win a pair of these IE-80's, I'd simply have to play something not only well-produced and amazing sounding, but also something French. I bet "Random Access Memories" by Daft Punk would feel appropriate given it's a collaboration with a French DJ/Producer and a French Graffiti artist! 2
Kamikaze Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 I'd love to win this IEM of great repute so I can block out my wife's nagging while we travel on the plane. 2
Seagull Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 because....... i've nearly worn out my cool IE8s! 1

Luc Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 (edited) I used to use these but recently I upgraded to these which a mate gave me. They're his prototype model prior to going into production. To be honest, I think he should stick to his day job which is a plumber but I haven't the heart to tell him. I missed out on a freebie at the International Hifi show run by that handsome young salami maker dressed in black because @Eggmeister is way way better with crunching numbers than me, I always did have difficulty with my 1-10 times table at maths. I'd like to be considered. I'm a worthy candidate I reckon. I live in the Boonies, we don't see much of this uber nice kit up here and if I ever get another pet I'll name it 'Sennysnar' or Snar' for short. No shameless crawling from me either I hope you've noticed, unlike the craven and abject attempts above me. #Oh! I just remembered that I have a pair of Senny TR120' cordless but they is broke as I dropped them into my pool a year or two ago and as they were a present from my family to watch TV with and not have the volume planted on a 100...I haven't had the heart to tell them they no longer work coz dad was half cut and fell over while listening to .. forget that last bit. shaky Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 My current rig in pic. You may notice the distinct lack of any headphones. It disturbs me no end that I can only drown the sounds of my life out by listening to the voices in my head. if I won a pair of these pretty little things I'm sure they would be put to good and often use much to the chagrin of the rest of my household and, of course, my intercranial vocal companions.
Luc Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 @shaky That's out and out crawling Tim, you should be ashamed of yourself. 1
Neo Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 (edited) There's something about Sennheiser sound that brings my listening experience that much closer to the truth of what is termed as good music. Edited December 17, 2016 by Neo

Anyway, all's fair in love and war as they say, whovever it is they are. 2
