Very nice, clean and understated Lebowski.

Now, really you do need a turntable round off the system. the Pixies are awesome on vinyl, as is most Indie music

thanks tt. Yep, I'm on the hunt for a turntable and hope to have something soon. I was into the Pixies in a big way when they first appeared and still give them a spin every now and then. Doolittle might have to be my first vinyl purchase.

Ah, cool. I was trying to decide how I would go about having a tube amp for listening to music and a receiver for HT, and remembered this setup, so that's good to know.

I was figuring i'd end up with two runs of speaker cable and swapping them over when needed using banana plugs or something. Access to the rear of the speakers seems like the easiest thing.

Anyway, nice clean setup... Looks great!

yep, two sets of speaker cables and interconnects is the way I do it and banana plugs make it very easy.

Cheers

nice kit OP, why spoil it with a TT sitting up there out in the open, your system is beautiful just the way she is. Then you'd have to put Lp's nearby, and there goes the minimalist design.

It's neither Mark or my system. I just found the pic from another forum and Mark being a big vintage Sansui fan, i thought i would post it here for him to enjoy.

As for your comment about having turntable out in the open and up front spoilling thing, i have nothing nice to say so i will keep it to myself.:)

I see some nice Sansui gear in that pic including an AU-11000 and 20000. That is Sansui nirvana

EDIT - actually I think that is a CA-2000 Pre from Sansui 'Professional' Series of the late 70's and a BA-3000 or 5000 Power Amp, 300 watts per channel

Thanks. It has evolved a bit and now includes some vintage Sansui gear. Still no TT in the collection, I have decided to wait a few years when I have more spare time to do it properly.

oh my bad, i havent visited this system page since you got the VAFs, or at least i must have missed that page.

Must say they do look nice in your room, would be a very low lying cabinet as the VAF's look huge. I bet they sound awesome with a proper tube amp.

thanks R&OR. If you think the VAF's look large in that room you should see them in my new man cave.

don't be mad jaspert, I wasn't talking about the photo/system you put up.

I was talking about that nice white minimalist system the OP put up.

so almost two and a half years since my second hi-fi journey began, this is where I'm at.

I suppose my system no longer qualifies for the budget title but compared to many SNA members it still does.

WLM La Scala's arrived today so I had to share my excitement ;)

Straight out of the box they sound great and I'll play around with placement and tweeter attenuation over the next few days.

Rich, you really got to get over again and hear the La Scala's. Maybe a little GTG with Jasper and a few others

Hear that swoosh sound?

That's me on my way!

Name the day and time and I'm there Mark. I really wanna give these babies a listen. Well done, your cave is looking (and I'm sure, sounding) like a Palace.

Congrats Mark. Looks great and tweeter attenuator too. Nice. Would love to come and have a listen again with your new babies... Your Sansui tower is getting out of control.....;):)

will work out a couple of options and let you know. The Man Cave is heaven, I can play any music as loud as I like, 24/7 ... provided I've done my chores : )

the tweeter attenuator is good for those not so good recordings. Might play around with DSP again now I have a full range speaker

Jasper's right - your Sansui tower IS getting out of control. What's the next thing to put on top - The AU-4077 Helicopter Landing Pad?

I am a s-cker for hi-fi suites - the stack looks very nice indeed but if I recall correctly, Mr Lebowski always had a knack for good looking display of his gear (or perhaps we both have the same bad taste! :) )

Very nice La Scalas.. WLM are certainly sexy in both form and function, my end game are the Divas (lusting for more before I have even started!).

Heck YES! Your Sansui stack is looking great mate.

A nice SE-7 would finish it off nicely, but at its current height the stack is framed nicely by the speakers. Any taller and it would be out of proportion.
