This is my last '06 and I've just pulled it out to open up a bit more before cooking the steaks. It is so fruit forward still for a 16 year old wine. Blackcurrant, a little kalamata tapenade, some liquorice and some very refined tannins. Finish going on and on and on. This is a belter. We've had an absolute **** of a week and the lovely Mrs Tel deserves this one. No way..... We were both at the same lunch..?? My wife got me tickets for my bday in 2019 and I was seated next to one of the winemakers. Brilliant day. 8 4

No, I went to one of the launch dinners as part of their cellar door on the road initiative. The one I went to was at Lamaro's Hotel in Melbourne. Hongie was hosting that one. 1
April Snow Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 (edited) Ok so a little early for anything serious - so here you go - my morning contribution - Vanilla Latte With Mr Morrison before heading up to Brisbane for the day/evening for some Riverfire (pray the rain stops) Edited September 3, 2022 by April Snow 8 2
Volunteer Volunteer Posted September 3, 2022 Volunteer Posted September 3, 2022 So, today the big clear-out started as prep for renovating large parts of the house. We found these... As a Coopers family shareholder, Mrs Tel used to get a case of beer at Christmas from the brewery. A couple of years ago, they rather arbitrarily decided that as a woman, she wouldn't like Pale or Sparkling and sent a case of this awful pish. She soon put them right. Anyway, this lot is gone now As a reward for hard work, and to continue in my endeavour of drinking last week into oblivion, tonight we're having this with pork and fennel sausages (our monthly subscription for pork from McIvor Farm in Tooborac arrived yesterday); a 2016 Maxwell Minotaur from McLaren Vale, tastefully posed in front of our local farms' fortnightly veg subscription plastic box. It was so tight on opening, it went straight into decanter. Happy Saturday to all. 10 1
dwbasement Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 Opened this for dinner tonite. Happy Saturday! 9 4
Mushroom01 Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 A must have Port wood finished malt. Mouthwatering, oily, a real cracker of a malt! Glenmorangie 14 Port wood is also a great dram, much cleaner, fresher dram. But this Glendronach is dirty, funky, just the way i like it... Highly recommend! 9 3
Mendes Posted September 3, 2022 Posted September 3, 2022 Pretty shagged after the hike today, so a bottle of nice wine is in order. This is some seriously good NZ Pinot here, absolutely singing at 14 years young. Mrs M asking how many more do you have . Happy Saturday friends 10 4

Mrs Tel saw this pic and said to tell you she approves. Our second bottle tonight (I'm not counting the Hanging Rock Picnic NV sparkling I had whilst cooking) is a Jim Barry "Pb" 2010 Shiraz Cab. Seems like my phone wanted to focus on my Tannoys and not on the bottle - I never was much of a photographer. 11 1

Enjoy Sunday everyone That would be nice & from my Birth state - one thing the Tassies do well is great food and great wine. I like NZ wine too - you are all educating me I don't miss much about Tassie but do miss the wonderful food. Fruit & Veg just not the same on the Goldie. But with a bottle of that fancy wine, I bet I would not notice eh? 3
