But back label shows 14.5% I will give bit more time to see if can get better, but so far so good. 4 1

We always get the famous brand from hk in the past but in the last few years, we found a local restaurant group makes their own every year, and they are fresh and tasty. Never buy those from hk anymore.

The best Greenocks in my opinion before the 'Parkerisation' of the brand. 1

Rice wine was a joke I used to have with my Japanese friends back when I could afford that stuff 1

Ian McP Posted September 12, 2022 Posted September 12, 2022 Chateau D'Angles La Clape Classique 2018 and 2019 $21.99 wine tragic mate recommended it on his blog Cognitive Cellar Therapy https://cognitivecellartherapy.com/category/languedoc-roussillon/ once again he was on the money! A lovely wine! a very tasty grenache shiraz mouvedre blend from Langedoc Rousillon that won't break the bank https://www.danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_109987/ch-teau-d-angl-s-la-clape-classique-rouge < From a rocky outcrop overlooking the Mediterranean, and first planted to grapes almost 2000 years ago by Roman Legionnaires. The vineyards of this extraordinary estate are watched over by the expert eye of Eric Fabre, former Technical Director at Chateau Lafite. It is now the responsibility of the youngest son, Vianney Fabre, to craft the wines. The composition for their Classique Red can be described, thus, "Syrah for fruit and spices delicately vinified and blended with Grenache for roundness, a dash of Mourvèdre giving structure, and the refreshing minty touch from the terroir of La Clape appellation. A tasty, smooth and balanced wine to enjoy without complexes!" > 1 1

If you're up Heathcote way just a little further on is Peregrine Ridge. Their speciality is shiraz, made by a mate of mine these are high octane take no prisoners flavour bombs yet surprisingly still silky smooth! Well worth the trip, new cellar door with spectacular views https://peregrineridge.com.au/ https://www.broadsheet.com.au/melbourne/toolleen/bars/peregrine-ridge# < Peregrine Ridge has one of the most striking cellar doors you’ll ever visit. It juts out from the top of a hill like a giant rock. Grand, floor-to-ceiling windows frame a jaw-dropping view over the Goulburn Valley and the vineyards below. On clear days, it’s possible to see as far as Mount Buller. Architect Nick Marino wanted the building to appear as though it was rising from the earth. It’s safe to say he got his wish. Peregrine Ridge specialises in Shiraz, a grape perfectly suited to the climate and iron-rich Cambrian soils of Heathcote. A standard tasting here includes a sample of its non-vintage sparkling, the Shearstone, the American oak blend and the limited-release French oak Shiraz varieties. Try the vintage, fortified shiraz for an exceptional dessert wine. Winemaker Graham Quigley is always on hand to explain the different flavours and textures imparted by the different barrels and soils. He favours an analytical approach to wine-making, born from a background in engineering. You can pair a wine tasting with a regional platter, stacked with local charcuterie, cheese and accoutrements. For vegans, there’s a pesto and dip platter. Gluten-free diets are also catered for. > 3
