When listening to some music this morning the messy cables behind the rack were bugging me more than usual, so I thought that if I can't see them they won't bug me.

Hung some black cloth on the wall behind, I think the result is quite effective, problem solved (from the front view anyway).

I'd like to say they are the latest high tech design, but just DIY, made out of MDF.

The carpet is mainly a nylon fibre so I thought it might be better raised just in case there is some static or something.

At least it looks impressive :)

They look cool and tidy.
I have tried few things but Tissue paper boxes sound best so far.
Wonder if anything better LOOKING and SOUNDING than tissue paper boxes.

Hi,

I was thinking of making some cable raisers as a little DIY project. I'v read that myrtle is good. The Jenga game from Target consists of small pieces of wood that could be used to make small cable raisers.

Jenga Tweaks Topic below,

Does anyone know if they are still made of myrtle?

Kind regards, Bob

A nice solution.  I had thought about doing something similar at one stage, perhaps I should do it!

I was also inspired and have 2 sets coming, if nothing else I really like how they look and it will tidy everything up and be uniform.

SQ improvement will be a bonus if it happens.............. I keep an open mind with these thing

I think these risers are very much advisable if can be had for cheap. You will certainly have psychological benefit not to mention a tidier look. Wish my setup was a passive one!

Hang on but there's also cat..... @SETSergio are you sure your cat wouldn't muck around with these???? :P

Ha ha ha ...... yes, you are correct @Happy. Many a time she skips and hops behind the back of the rack.

I have 20 of these risers coming and am hoping by spacing them close to each other she will be unable to topple them.

She see's it as a test of her jumping ability and Cat-hood  :emot-bang:.......... She is a sweetheart though

I’ve updated speaker cables recently and have modified my risers because the cables are tethered together at each end, and I wanted to seperate them so I turned them over and put slots in the top, does the job.

@Sime thank you, pretty much got it sounding sweet.

There have been a few changes since my original photo in this post, added subs and removed my dyi bass traps.

You are welcome anytime when you are up this way.

Might even change your opinion of the Lenehan reference speakers :thumb:but we won’t go there :)

@awayward I’ve got a very high opinion already, just not higher than mine is all.
