Jventer Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 MoCA stands for Multimedia over Coax. I have discovered it a few days ago in my research of possibilities to put data, video etc through my home without pulling new cables. It looks very promising. According to Wikipedia: MoCA 2.5 (introduced April 13, 2016) offers actual data rates up to 2.5 Gbit/s, continues to be backward interoperable with MoCA 2.0 and MoCA 1.1, and adds MoCA protected setup (MPS), Management Proxy, Enhanced Privacy, Network wide Beacon Power, and Bridge detection. MoCA 2.5 adds addition performance profiles: Profile B: 400 Mb/s net data rate up to 16 nodes, and 500 Mbit/s in turbo mode (two nodes only). Profile C: 800 Mb/s net data rate with channel bonding up to 16 nodes, and 1 Gbit/s in turbo mode (two nodes only). Profile D: 1.5 Gbit/s, 2 Gbit/s and 2.5 Gbit/s net data rates up to 16 nodes.
