stevoz Posted September 11, 2023 Posted September 11, 2023 Last night, post movie: Steely Dan "The Royal Scam" UK repress.....post glue clean. This really came up a treat....and we all know a perfect Steely Dan pressing IS a real treat. Sounded superb! Crossfire "East Of Where" Oz 1st pressing.....again superb SQ. Crossfire self titled debut, Oz 1st pressing.....another SQ treat.....this is more prog stoner jazz than their later more quirky 'fun' jazz. Love it. Ended with another SQ banger, the superb production that is Alan Parsons Project "Stereotomy" German 1st pressing. Truly superb dynamics on this. A really enjoyable late evening. 12

Kombi Posted September 11, 2023 Posted September 11, 2023 Dipping my toes into classical. Going with The Original Source series from Deutsche Grammophon. These 2 are from the first release. I have a couple from the second release in the series on their way to me. AAA that sound amazing. To me it’s a bit like Tone Poets from Blue Note is to Jazz. 9 3

Kombi Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 (edited) Using both my Stereo and Mono tables today. Two different Morrisons. Both arriving today. I don’t know why it took me so long to get Astral Weeks, this is a great release and an excellent pressing of it. The Doors Mono is an excellent pressing too, i do have the AP stereo release but really enjoyed the Mono from VMP. Edited September 12, 2023 by Kombi 14 2
